Smithing.. ROARRRRRR

I found a good way to level smithing (I gave up 4 years ago)
I do the velium thingy, 1 scroll of enchant velium + 1 velium, trivial around 220 I think...

Well did that with velium from 175 to 194 with velium from Crystal caverns, but boring and not so much with the repop time.

So I remember Skyshrine, and it's nice for velium, move around the zone, kill gargoyles and guards, stop at the forge, cut the velium so it stack, go to the bank, put velium in bank while banker hit you and do it again and again.

I did that for like.. 7 or 8 hours, I had 480 pieces of velium.

Very happy I go to Thurgadin, and start the combines..

I didn't get one single point in smithing at 194 with a 220 trivial in 480 combines..

Gonna go back to pottery alchemy and baking, calm my nerves

OMG WHAT? That does not sound right! I have heard about bad runs but this is just unreal.

I hope you weren't accidentally using the regular velium bits recipe on your secong run? Anyhow, my sympathies...

Also, try killing in the Tizmak caves and breaking the velium weapons down for velium bricks and pieces, if you need more...

I'd second that. I did Tizmaks for 30 minutes and walked away with 193 Small Pieces of Velium.

And make sure you are using the right recipe (though it sounds like you were).

Enchanted Velium Bits (Trivial 222 Smithing):
Spell: Enchant Velium
2 Small Pieces of Velium
Coldain Velium Temper

Well it wasn't 480 combines, just gotcha looking the recipe..

Need 2 per combine so it was 240 combines, but yea it was 8 hours farming, and no level up..

I opened a window and scream'd 30 secs

Well, if nothing else, I feel better about my own recent run. After reaching 212 on LDON plate, I farmed all the velium I could carry and pulled out several stacks of saved velium from my bank. In short, I went 95 combines (190 pieces of velium) and got 4 skillups to 216. Between that and the large cost (to me) in plat, I think I will wait a while before the next run. I'll go do something soothing, like farm tailoring supplies.
