  • 7 people in an LDON and 1 was 18 levels below & not grouped

ok.. so last night one of our level 65 clerics came back to EQ after 4 months being gone. She was seriously worried about being rusty at healing, so I pulled together a group for an EF Ldon, figured that would be nice and easy. we had, 70 BL, 68 bard, 65 cleric, 67 shammy, 65 Pally, and 70 necro. Full group. Buff up in guilhall, zone to ef from lobby. Go to grab adv. Collect 22, normal (really want this to be easy for her) we all start running to adv.. Whoops, shammy didn't get adv. Dunno why we were all grouped. So all quit, I run back to adv guy, to grab another adv. HUH? He's showing I can't get adv cuz shammy is in one.. shammy's pc says he's not. (wife is the cleric she's looking at his screen too Both are saying theres no adv.) ok.. shammy is bugged.. he logs out, moves to another computer comes back. grab a collect 20 this time. Shammy still doesn't show he has adv, but remembering how he didn't show last time I ask him to try zoning in before we all quit out again. He zones in fine. we start killing, sliding through like a hot knife through butter.
huh?? what?? theres a 7th person in zone with us.. NOT a GM. Somehow a 52 wizzie got the adv that our shammy didn't and got inzone with us. they were never grouped with us... and at 18 levels below our 2 highest people we can't figure out whats going on.spend ohh... 5 minutes talking with this person, and finally convince them there is NO room in our group and they cannot join us. they leave, we're still confuzzled, but we press on.. finish adv inside of 35 minutes, and... shammy got no points...

Yes, I've /bugged this, we all did.. I just wanted a chance to let people know this might happen to them too. and I know it's not a scream exactly, more like a confused frustration.

Interesting. Not sure whether it's related, but I was having a lot of problems with the raid tool on Sunday. I wasn't getting updates in my raid window. Others were having similar problem. People would be in a group and not in raid. Some people not in either a raid or group could not be invited. One person would see me as the raid leader, but I wouldn't have any authority...etc etc. Tried ending the raid and reforming, but that didn't fix things. I then camped to the selection screen (since I was the raid leader) and reformed the raid, and it still was foobarred.

We finally had to have everyone reboot their computers and come back in, then reform the raid for the bugs to go away.

      Very weird.

Hmmm, now that's a new one. In the past, I've been on a couple of Lost Dungeons of Norrath adventures where one person from our party simply couldn't zone into the dungeon, for some reason. Not too long ago, I went on an adventure where the casters couldn't cast spells just outside the dungeon entrance and inside at the zone-out area (our spell gems greyed out and never came back; it required logging out and logging back in to clear).

However, not once have I ever seen a person from outside the party enter one of these dungeons. Most peculiar is your experience, Ixiola.

I have heard of people logging out in an LDoN, then logging in (days later) in someone elses LDoN. They just happened to have the same instance number.
