I have had three instances where I have been camping a mob, had someone (green to me) come along, try to take my pulls, repeatly request a group, then tell me I should let them take pulls.

I have no problem grouping, I just prefer to be asked prior to someone trying to take mobs. Is this something other folks have seen recently? These guys will sit directly in front of my char, repeatedly asking for a group, tell me I am rude for not sharing (because they had been planning to hunt for the same mob, I just got there a hour before them). I don't know, maybe I just hit a bad run on society's RNG.

Flatley, I have had the very same problem since I hit level 14 and started soloing. I don't think there has been zone one, Crushbone included, where I have had any peace, including and especially when I am farming Ice Giants. People can be very rude and overbearing, thinking that just because they are a group we have no right to solo. My advice (and of course I'm only a half-elf so I don't have to follow Tunare's rules by the letter heh) if they really, really annoy you, TRAIN THEIR ARSES lol. No, but seriously, I know where you're coming from and if there is a solution I haven't found it yet.

When soloing, I play during very off-peak hours.

      Nobody bothers me.

Hmm, glad to hear I'm not actually being rude.

I refuse to group with anyone who simply hails me and spam clicks their invite buton. Especially if I'm trying to watch my DPS while I'm bard chanting down something red.

At lvl 37 I've had people from very red to far too green try this.

My response is usually "No, I'm good." IF they keep bugging my they get an ignore. But the SPAM click of the invite key still gets through.

(Actually, I just recently create a newbie character on another server, and was making my first kill so I could get money for a detremental spell of *any* type. Some id10T comes to me, spam clicks the invite key... tells me to click the spell keys... then starts calling me a n00b. So I explain to him in slow small words that I had a HP buff, a heal, and hmmm what is the third buff spell that you get as a druid in the tutorial by default? Anyhow, more n00b calling as *obviously* I should have bought an attack spell from the spell vendors. Needless to say I just gave up completely on that "prefered" server. Bah!)

I think I need a . LOL, as it is still bothering me how dumb people are. I mean, what was the point of making an .... butt.... of yourself? Take a no and move on, no biggy.

I've noticed this a few times myself. I've been playing for a few years and this rude behavior is new to me. Happened to me in Draniks Scar while camping the named ukun on my 67 ranger. (/rant on) Yeah, Im gonna let some 36 gimp group with me so, that IF the mob that I have been camping for some time now just happens to pop, he can ninja loot the augs. Fat chance pal (/rant off)

I would venture to guess that these young'ns are veteran players trying to pull one over on folks. Either way, no way Im gonna let someone I don't know group with me on a camp like that. I'm not THAT gullible (I think).

It is even worse now with cross zone group invites, I was afk in cab on my new shaman, and apparently got a grp invite from NL, this was after the person sending the iinvte sent a tell and got the afk message. Then the group proceded to ask me if I was too good for them, all the while I am afk.

Since the cross-zone invite feature was introduced, I have encountered unwanted group invites just once - but that one time has made me realize a drawback of this system.

I had an alternate character in trader mode in the bazaar, and I was away from the keyboard. I happened to walk by my computer, and promptly noticed that somebody had sent me a group invite. I clicked on the "decline" button, and here's what happened:

CluelessPlayer tells you "Why did you refuse my invite?"
              MyCharacter (AFK message pops up).
CluelessPlayer tells you "What's your level?"
MyCharacter (AFK message pops up again).

At this point I'm thinking "Self, this clown didn't even bother to check where I was, whether or not I was in trader mode, or even what level I am. Let's carefully explain things to Skippy here and perhaps he'll understand." I took my character out of AFK and replied:

MyCharacter tells CluelessPlayer "I am in the bazaar in trader mode. If you had sent me a /tell before your invite, you would have known that."
CluelessPlayer tells you "Somebody's feeling grouchy today."
MyCharacter tells CluelessPlayer "Not grouchy at all. Just stating a fact."

Sheesh, what is wrong with these people? It is truly that difficult to comprehend that simply ASKING a person if they wish to group BEFORE you send them an invite is the polite way to do things? I had half a mind to tell this guy to go to finishing school, but I held my virtual tongue. No sense in getting nasty, after all.

So if any of you out there are getting unexpected invites from out of the blue, be rest assured it's not just you. You've got company.

I haven't had anything like this happen from strangers yet. What I do get though is guildies grabbing up people who are not grouped to join them just so they can activate HoTT.

See, now that is okay. At least you are being (ab)used by people who know and repect you. I am okay with dealing with that kind of thing.

I'm curious. What spawn could you and someone green to you be contesting?
