Howdy,

Last night TheWife was working on Brewing (0 to 215 in a couple hours) and I was hunting Glowing Bile for shawls. (got 5 in 8 hours in one day, yea me)

Her KEI ran out so I camped and logged in my Enc (retired) to do MGB KEI in PoK so she could have it. She ran from Abysmal Sea, I was in Gunthak. (Where I had previously given her KEI, bright Lord Agnostic I wish I could put it on my own alts.)

Buffed, logged back to new main, killed glowing wurm, looted last bile (I hope) and camped.

I spent nearly 6 years getting my enchanter up to 65 with 50ish AA points, SCRMastery, 8th shawl, MGB and the C3/C4/C5/Vallon's set. Now I pretty much log in to buy LORE shawl components, buff TheWife, or MGB PoK when the screams of the addicts reach a fever-pitch.

I've been on for hours LFG with my enchanter.

I'm starting to get requests multiple continents away for groups, buffs, and rezzes. The entire tenor of the game has changed for me. Now I don't have to suffer thru taking the first group offer I get.

Friend tells you: Hey, we've got room in Stillmoon Temple if you are doing faction work for DoN still.
You tell Friend: Sorry, just on to MGB KEI. My twink cleric has gained nearly a level a day for 3 weeks. 51 and clicky rez by Monday, Tuesday at the latest. (Said Saturday at level 48.)
Friend: We have a cleric. We could use C5 and mez.
You: Sorry, you are on weekend nights. Normally I play weekday mornings.
Friend: We were thinking you would join our guild.
You: Sorry, gonna go camp Pure Blood spell. Be safe and good hunting.

Love that.... reason I had to go to /role for my Shaman, getting unsolicted buff requests and then when I tell them what I got it is like oh nvm.... I wanted Fo7 or such.

Hehe, I was trying another tipt run on my shaman last weekend (I am 0 for about 35), and buffbeggars were camping my bind point. No, I don't play on a zek, it wasn't that sort of bind camping. I'd get tells and hails before I finished loading.

Course, I did a DoN the other nite, and the cleric asked whether I was an enchanter or a druid. Another groupmate sent a tell for haste.

Perfect time to do some roleplay here. For the cleric, I might have replied something like, "Actually, I'm a little of both. Depending on how I play, I can survive a wipe as well as a druid or die as fast as an enchanter."

For the groupmate asking for haste, I would have casted a level 1 nuke on him a couple times before informing him he was too low level for haste to land, sorry.

My poor Paladin still gets asked for SoW... and I don't even use /role or /anon!

Then there's the times when I set up LFG on my Cleric, putting a note in that says "Only LDoN or DoN", and get asked if I want to go to PoI or PoV... sometimes three or four times.

I put my Wizard in a permenant state of roleplay of obvious reasons... the worst being asked for a port "in a few min", waiting around, asking them if they still need it, and getting "I got a port already". But that's my fault for being too patient with people.

My Bard, on the other hand... HE'S in roleplay because I got sick of people asking me if I wanted to trade accounts. I consider it a great service to the EQ community if I keep yet another moron from playing a Bard.

I get that all the time on my druid. That's why he's always /role. If I want to buff people, I'll take /role off and annouce it (sometimes, when waiting for people to get on, I'll single shot Steeloak in the PoK while I wait.) Once I used this:

/ooc bored druid casting single shot SS and nines behind the main bank. Just hail me.

Immediately, I got 3 or 4 tells saying, "if you're bored, come PL me." That was the last time I used that phrase. Now I say

/ooc I have a few minutes before I have to go. Will cast SS or nines as long as mana holds out. . .

Wow, I noticed this thread came back from the dead a few days ago.

Note: My cleric did NOT clicky-rezz the thread.

And it brought giggles to my heart. So I took a break from coding my CS 330 project, which I was working on because I don't have the software at home to work on the CS 360 project, and the EC 380 project isn't due till Thursday and my group hasn't made a final decision, plus my CS 310 project isn't due until Holloween. (And I also don't have the software for the 310 project on my home computer yet.)

Note: Yes, that's a lot of projects. I have 4 builds/docs due in 360, 3 projects in 330, 3 more in 310, a semester-long project and 2 "one week" projects in 380 all due in the next 8 weeks. Yes that's 1.5+ projects due each week. And this is only the "junior level" coursework. And I'm only doing 12 credits. A buddy is taking the same courses I am AND 2 400-level Math classes. He's nuts.

So I decided to dust off my EQ characters and do another clicky rez and MGB of KEI.

So I log in my cleric. Here's what happened.

I resemble that remark, even though I only discovered EQ in spring of 2001.

Sometimes when I'm on another character and I see those screams, I get this silly idea that *maybe* if they know my chanter's name, they might remember her kindly the next time they see her in the LFG window.

My chanter cannot MGB yet, thanks to a shortage of hunting groups.

So she takes up her place behind the Nexus stone (that's right, against a nice *solid* wall where nobody can sneak up behind her), removes /role, and clicks her hotkeyed /ooc:

Greetings, fellow Norrathians! For ~~ KEI ~~ Tranquiility, VoQ, Clarity or C 2 ~~ meet me *behind* the Nexus stone, and I will bless you with what power I can. (Donations *appreciated* but never required.)

It is astonishing how many people immediately send tells asking for KEI, haste, charisma, etc -- and ask where she is.

One friend watched the immediate public results once, and was laughing so hard he could hardly type. So the next time I did a relog, immediately following my /ooc greeting he adds, Incoming -- train to chanter!

Not an exaggeration, though it did yield a bit of /ooc laughter.

I'm getting even with him though... I bought the KEI scroll for *his* enchanter.

Be warned -- Clerics that are not /role will get the same treatment at Virtue+ level!! Mine always stays /role currently, because I have not yet acquired the runes needed for single-shot Conviction.

If either cleric or chanter is not /anon or /role, stepping into PoK means she'll get so many buff requests that I cannot keep track of any ongoing tell conversations with friends or possible group invites.

I got disoriented in PoK couple days ago, not remembering where Plane of Tranquility stone was located. Being a druid, bound in guild lobby, I only ever enter PoK when porting a group to civilization after hunting somewhere or when I need to go to PoT for some reason. I love being a druid and the additional benefit of not needing to visit PoK.
