Setting up for the last leg of the smithing. Im at 279 and make my checks:
25 stacks of Blessed dust: Check
25 stacks of Celestial Essence: Check
25 stacks of Mistletoa Temper: Check
Bound at mold merchant: Check
Gems enough for a Kings ransom on me: Check
250K left in bank: Check
Loads and loads of raw material in Bank to do more subcombines: Check
Kicking into it and feeling optimistic because so far skillups have been coming about once per 20 combines on average. So I hit a stop. About 60 combines until 280. Then its a dead stop. Literally. I try to buy more stuff from vendor and see that I am going linkdead and wonder if PoK is crashing, but nope, my internet provider, the one area where it has all been stable for a year, every single time I log in, has chosen this time to mess up.
So I get in at 11am this morning again, and just know that that was my last chance but figure that I ill try to rush the Mistletoe Sickles and I might get lucky before patch. Riiiight. To wake and rid me of this illusion, Murphy happily punches me a few times, and with all the stuff I have on me, and even desperately making new before server goes down, I end up at skill 284. Whatever I tried to do, it took a lot more combines for every skillup after 279 it seems. A lot. The difference was so extreme between every skillup from 236-279 and the 280 to 284 that it was just ridiculous. It was like hitting a brick wall that said stop.
So so so annoying.
With 20 stacks of Imbued emeralds left in bank, I can only hope that Sickles dont get shot down in flames...but...
