Just a primal scream...

Why don't people by now have anti-virus installed? What hole do they have their head burried in?

today I got 3: (Win32:Mydoom-L [Wrm])
and 3: (Win32:Netsky-P [Wrm])

virus' sent to the boards admin account via email!

ARG! 6 OLD viruses sent to me! ARG!

sigh.

Just because you have an anti-virus program installed (and keep it updated) doesn't mean that it's working.


A friend of mine had McCaffee (McCrappy) running and it didn't notice Klez.h running for several months (and yes, he kept it current).

AVG is a great one (and free!) at www.grisoft.com and a good firewall is ZoneAlarm (free, too) at www.zonelabs.com.

A good anti-virus search on the go is housecall.antivirus.com and another good general spyare killer is Spybot (I don't have the link handy).

I am actually running Avast because it works with thunderbird without tons of extra work (it scans the POP and SMTP port instead of specifically working inside a particular email program, so no extra work needed)

It is luckilly catching all of these It just has this anying siren that goes off everytime it catches one sent to me...

It is also free and rather good like AVG I would advise either of them to folks (hint hint!)
