changing triv on items is fine, its the zero notice leaving people with in some cases hundreds of thousands of wasted plat and hundreds of wasted ours gathering stuff and not having a chance to use it.

When they altered the smithing ones they, shock horror, tested it first so we knew it was coming and werent left with useless stock. This time it went live overnight with no testing and no notice for folk to use their stock.

Now for every other trade skill we have a defacto warning, but even then we dont know what recipes (and hence what stock) will change or when

i was slowly working on my smithing, collecting and buying components for bazu armor, tae ew armor and shields and my blue diamond cultural. I had planned on making bazu in runs of 80 untill i got my skill to the point that the tae ew and bd cultural combines i had waiting would likely cap me again.

Given we know something will change somehow, i had to finish equalising my stocks and tradeskill like mad because they may all be useless after the patch. Given as well that my 3 skillup options may be useless i sunk all my plat into doing 400 sickle combines (that i was never going to do any of) because i may be left stranded for skillups for god knows how long after the patch in the same wasy as tailoring is now.

Thanks sony for 2 nights of barely any sleep and a 0 bank balance because youve left us totally in the dark about what you are doing!

Does every thread have to turn into "They should have warned us before changing trivials"? Yes, I agree, but I think the point has been made already!

I was trying to make a point about how it is hard to make skilling up "difficult" without introducing artificial limits by character level, mob level, drop rate etc. which people always complain about.

I was wondering if anyone had any better ideas than the ones that the EQ designers have come up with.

ESRB Rating: Teen. Game Experience May Change During Online Play.

yes I know the ESRB use that phrase to mean "there exists user-generated content". But it's still funny to imply it means "the world changes, you're not a child so cope". Please don't use the big font on me Ngreth!

              Um weird.

It is not showing as abnormal sized font to me.

A few words are capitolized, but the whole post is the same font SIZE...

EDIT: I rember now doing it... but for some reason it is not there nowe for me... weird.

and it was not directed at any ONE person, just the group of people who kept telling us that this is not a Rant forum because we will not allow people to curse, insult, attack, or otherwise be overly rude to people. If that was you mister Nicola, then yeah you are one of the people it is directed at, but then again, if it was you then you are one of the people who have not been listening (reading?) to what I have been saying over and over and over again.

                Well, to quote you:

"Sorry about the larger font there, but maybe it will make it stick in peoples head what we are doing here."

Obviously stuck in some of our heads, even it went straight out of yours... that's Ogres for you I guess

You even said this right after the large font -
"Sorry about the larger font there, but maybe it will make it stick in peoples head what we are doing here."

My only real beef, is the same as many other tailors out there. We had our skill up path taken from us, after many of us had those stacks of ingredients waiting to be combined, here comes the important part. BEFORE all the other tradeskills had theirs changed.

All the other trade skills had the time now to raise their skill levels using the old paths, and we are now way behind them as a result.

Sure this new path may help out ( mainly to those that are just starting tailoring ) , but as stated here many times, our stock piled ingredients are worthless to us, and devalued in the market place.

These new paths that we were supposed to be getting to make it smoother should have been implemented for the tailors as soon as they realized the error. Of course I would prefer the reset of the trivials until their intended date. Even a 24 hour period in which to bum rush the combine / auto inventory buttons.

Well, since they are set on the "readjusting" of tradeskill trivials and it will happen, I have to admit that I am interested in how the recipes will be changed.

Absor wrote earlier about maybe 20% more combines 250-300, but 15% less combines overall, so that is negligable, and I can definately enjoy any "smoother" skillup progression. My fear is that the higher levels of any tradeskill will use rare drops from locked zones, or rare drops, which creates big trouble right now with the Cultural tradeskills.

But, we will see. I think we will either hate it or love it. No middle road.
