  • Guardians of the Mushrooms

I don't play alts, let alone one of my mule characters, but a combination of events let up to me changing my playing method. You see... I am a rogue. A dumb as a brick rogue. With a clairivoyance, a set of INT gear, and maxed out AA for INT, I can actually hit 330... barely. Now, because I am currently in skillup mode, I am saving every copper I can get. As such, I have been living in the guild hall to conserve my clairvoyance for those times when a guild enchanter is not on and I may be forced to pay for the service.

So, in comes my mule. (Sorry, no names. I get enough random tells as it is because of my UI work.) Due to hitting 300 on poison, all of her packs are empty (one of those... why am I stockpiling all this junk for? OH! Raised cap!) But I digress. She left her safe and secure local in PoK and ventured into the depths Kaladim to hunt mushrooms.

It takes less then 30 seconds to clear the entire garden. It takes about 5 minutes or so for the garden to reset. What do you do during that time? Ah-ha! Kill rats! The guardians of the mushrooms.

So, killing rats I went. My mule was level 2 after the tutorial, so I thought heh, why not. Get a level or two while I am here. After all, the rats are dark blue to me.

3 rat kills to get 1 percent xp toward level. At level 2. Uh-huh.

So, there is my rant. Rats are worth way too little xp if a level 2 can't level up on them efficiently.

Turning in 4 whiskers, which are extremely rare drops mind you, gives the equivalant of one rat kill.

This XP is completely horrid given I am doing it with a level 2 character.

There used to be a merchant in Kithicor that sold unlimited rat whiskers. At some point after I maxed out my factions in like every city where I wasn't already KoS, they nerfed it.

Once you level up some more you can try your hand at..... Giant Rat! Oh, and that rare spawn clockwork.
