  • Thank you SOE

Thank you Maddoc for responding and making it clear Sonys stance on the issue of the Trivial changes.

What I gathered from your post is that you intend to re-evaluate all the tradeskills and set the trivials to be more in line with the difficulty of the combine. By this Im guessing that what you mean is anything that doesnt require drops from flagged zones will triv at 252 max. In order to get to 300 people will be required to farm flagged zones, which will cut off ALL casual players from gaining 300 in their chosen tradeskill.

I have decided that I will not renew my 2 accounts in May, I will allow them to expire and I will not bother myself with any more Sony products. I dont do this because you changed the trivials and made the game a little harder. I do this because of Sonys response to a lot of upset tailors who now have a lot of materials rotting in their banks. Sonys oh well, tough, deal with it attitude is my reason for deciding to no longer support their tech staff with my monthly payments.

If this post generates any reaction on Sonys part it will mean nothing to me for I will no longer be playing. Hopefully however any reaction to this will benefit those of you who choose to continue playing.

    Goodbye

    I feel your pain

You know I get the feeling that Sony has given up on EQ. Moves like these without working with the player base makes no sense. They are forced to combine servers, etc.. because of loss of player base. And then they make a move that upsets a player base who have stuck around. It makes no sense. I have resisted the calling to leave since I have played since Beta. But if things continue along the same path. Perhaps its time to move on from a game I have loved for so long! Good Luck Hael, safe travels on the journey of life!

Yeah, this tailoring change was an outright insult to every tradeskiller out there.
Look at Velious tailoring, its a skillup path, but its SLOW. Look at Solsticke Robes, its a skillup path, but its slow and expensive.
Look at everything apart from that, its a skillup path, if you got like 200K pr skillup. I can honestly say that a 4 hour group in a flagged zone to get drops for maybe TWO combines are NOT a viable skillup route. They just removed every change for anyone to get to 300 tailoring at the moment.

And unless they introduce some farmable, green mobs that can drop items for up to 300 skill, its useless. Unless you can get at LEAST for 10 tries a hour soloing, they might as well remove tailoring from the game.

Well, ever since the latest patch, I can't play at all because I get a 1017 error when I try to connect to any server. Sometimes I wonder if SOE is trying to make people angry enough to leave EQ so they can shut it down in favor if EQ2.

They really need to work on drop rates if they intend us to skill up on these items that are like a 1 in 100 drop.

you should get legend service for get their attention ?

I m sad eq die slowly and sony do nice thing for keep it alive, but beside that... they kill it more and more, due to lack of communication...
The only thing they realy need to do it's learn relationship.

They know how ask people what they want and give the thing who are insignifiant, and people ll be happy, but ninja nerf behind what they have give...
Like you get a AA for less fizzle... Ok we add more fizzle in game.
You are less interrupt... Mob interrupt more.
Etc etc... Always like this, always.
But sadest part is if you have a problem... Deal with it because SOE will not help (why ? only legend service have paid for be helped...)
Long time i have understand that and for sure it's not for SOE i stay in EQ..., i love EQ. And i remember in old time when GM was nice and help you...
                  You could even tell them.

Now you must do one petition, and only one, and GM ll respond (if you are lucky) and closed it (without any word is the sadest thing i have see)
And be sure if you are not an enraged player who ll eat them, they ll do nothing.

Like Tailoring nerf, beside totaly upset lot of player... the sadest part it's they say nothing and do like nothing happen (at last In Game who is the more important part)

I see on some forum some word... but what maddoc have say on some post he should have say it in some server message or mail in game. that would dont let player think sony dont care of them...

And i m tired to read sony say "sorry"... arg i hate when they say that...

BUT... I love EQ... the only thing i can do is hope, i know some of sony staff people are nice people and do their best... Wait and see.

But they have already done that with smithing long time ago... i remember and i was like today caugh in mind to do it later and cant do it anymore... but me i just say bha i ll dont do it then LOL...

Sorry than people leave more and more

I have played eq for five and a half years so far and, with my wife, have four accounts.

Thankfully I have only had to ask GMs for help half a dozen times, but every time they have responded quickly, efficiently and courteously. Considering that they probably spend most of their day listening to problems and complaints then I have been very impressed with their attitude.

I'm not trying to say that others haven't had problems and frustrations, but I just wanted to put the other side of the discussion

                      Game Master ...

I have played eq for five and a half years so far and, with my wife, have four accounts. Too

I agree i have see several nice GM.
I have 3 account... 2 char are die forget why, but that was not usual perhaps a server crash i totaly forget... after hour a lost hope and looted my corps
                      then GM answere...
First GM gived me a 100% rez and as very nice...
Other GM for second account ignored me and gived me nothing... (no rez)
PS: I was already happy to get one rez...

When corps timer was bugger and unrezable after only 1h of game... i petitionned a lot, and never got anything else than answere saying problem it's me not a bug... I have send report etc with corps timer etc... they ignored me. Do a bug report...

Or sadest thing, when you cant accept to fail and do an LDoN... was like 30 min after start a collection 22 item miss 3 to finish but server crash for 5 min, when we comed back supposed to have 55 min to finish mission, but no, the mission was fail, all timer are reseted... That s rude. (i was about to leave EQ due to that)

And in all this case they do nothing... And in lot of more case where we are victime...

And i think GM are more nice on some server and less on other... I come from Lanys where GM was very nice when i m arrived on Luclin server i was disapointed when i petition a guy who KS trained me... GM asked me if problem is solve when he arrived... Like i petition just for pass my time, GM no want take an active part of this...
While when i petitionned a player on Lanys, this player was banish 3 day later... that s not same ... On luclin all player told you they know rule and use it like they want, like i have agro then i do what i want...

Bha... perhaps Legend service are better served

I petitioned exactly once on a live server for something. Back when I played on FV, my toon died with the falling bug when she zoned into shadowhaven. I /petitioned like a good girl. It took several days to answer my petition. You know what they told me? Yeah, this is a location known for that bug, but the rezz timer is up on that corpse, so we can't rezz it for you. And then they left. Wouldn't answer my continued tells. My corpse finally rotted there and I never did get the rezz I should have gotten. Needless to say, while some GMs/Guides are fabulous, some of them just don't care.

I'm on Test now. We don't have GMs, and heck, I get better service now than I did when I was on live and had GMs.

In general I've had a pretty good time with GMs. I like to charisma buff them as I pass by. Although, the old-timers on my server will always miss the Merry Days of Mennix. Even the best GM would have a hard time living up to that furry-foot.

The only time that I was extremely unhappy with my GM was when I couldn't get an answer about a problem I had with a quest fight ending with the final mob poofing, taking my item with him. This was when servers each still had their own dedicated head GM. I sent petitions, I used the Contact your GM form that was then on the EQ Live site, I tried everything. I could never catch my GM around, and couldn't get even so much as a message. After two weeks I got fed up and emailed eqmail@soe.sony.com to explain all my attempts to reach my GM and the complete lack of a response. Two days later I had an email from my GM.

So, I recommend that route if you are having trouble reaching anyone at all. It might also be an option where you feel the service you received was utterly unacceptable. You might not get anything changed for yourself, but at least someone in a position to change the policy might get wind of it.

I don't even bother petitioning the GM's on Rodcet Nife anymore. If they do manage to answer me back in a decent amount of time, I always get the "Sorry, I can't do anything to help you" message. I just accept the fact that bugs happen and they will slow my progression down.
