  • It only takes 1... /grumble

With the low supply/high demand of oow tradeskill items, I understand the high prices, No sweat.

However! This week has been rough. Slugworms, usually a 35-55k commodity on Prexus have been blown out of the water. All by 1 greedy twit. It's common for bazaar availability on them to be tapped by midweek, the supply from the weekend warriors runs out. So when its wednesday & there are no more slugs to be had, one just waits till saturday...

Unless it's wednesday & somebody puts up 1 slugworm for sale, at 100k :/..... The trickle-down effect wrecks the economy for the up-coming weekend. That 100k slug obviously doesn't sell. The folks bring their slugs to the market & see the 100k slug & set their prices. Some go insane & make theirs 125k, others, rationally go for a lower price 75k nominally.

Meanwhile, nobody is buying till the price comes down & those 7 or 8 slugs are just sitting there. Until someone gets desperate & pays 75k.

Gah! /auc WTB faster market correction!!!!!!

better now, just had to get that out of my system

    Aye, but consider this also...

I agree vendors can drive prices into insane realms, but I am guilty of this too. I deliberately choose to vendor a HQ Lion skin, not to sell, but to make people angry enough to petition to have the drop made more common. I am trying like crazy to get to 250 in tailoring and SOE decides to increase the competition for a ultra rare drop by making it a path for the rogue 2.0 Epic!!

So, to respond to this, I petitioned and I set the price on the one HQ Lion I have at a ridiculous price. My AFK when in vendor mode invites people to petition to make the skin more common (even in a higher zone like CS or the Planes) just so it is not impacted as heavily by the introduction of a new demand on an already rare item.

When I make Fleeting Quivers, I charge a normal rate, but for the HQ Lion, my price will stay too high to reflect the HOURS it takes to get just one (I average one skin every 15 hours). Now if Sony wants to make a good viable path from 180 to 230 in tailoring, I will gladly ignore the impact on this one item, until then I am protesting in a way to get others to protest.

If im not mistaken, they changed it so you can use some other HQ skin instead of the HQ Lion skin for that part of the rogue 1.5 epic (not 2.0).

Im not a rogue, so i dont know exactly. Thats just what i heard.

They did change it for the rogue epic, we used high quality cougar instead of lion skin for my husband's epic.

Coolness! Now I can lower my price on the Lion and scrape the scum off!

I had been happily humming along doing Iksar Cultural robes to skill up.

Abatement words, 2 to 40pp each, swatches , around 15pp when the vendor who made them had them.
Foraged a ton of honeyberries in DL woot 212!

OK, now, all those maneater buds I tried to save--gone in seconds with common obligation words in the bazaar, 12pp each for swatches.

            Words of requistion
dropping in AC when I farmed acrylia for the flawless hides I was doing. cool
I'd get maybe one or two per session. Hunt down my friend to make swatches. Forage or buy honeyberries, 25 pp max each in bazaar ok

A few would turn up in bazaar , from the other acrylia farmers/sellers, 5pp each, max 50. The swatch lady rocks. around 25 pp each for her rdy made swatches. I could buy one or two each day, up to 5 some days.. moving on and up...

THEN.. it HAPPENED.. her!!! that Mule , who is ALWAYS on in the Bazaar, I have attemped contact in various ways.

It is her right, but she has 13 of them priced at 400 pp each, for approximately the last two months. They, of course don't sell. They only drive the price up. After about a month and a half, people starting giving up some, and they go from 100 to 200 each. Rarely, an acrylia farmer doesn't bother to look now after two months, and I get one for 10pp again.

Now though, thanks to just one overpriced, constantly on bazaar mule, cultural robes were no longer an option for me to skill up relatively at low cost and faster.

It's farming city, but the sacrfice will be fine. I guess I need to do what so many others do. Put aid grimel on hold, farm runes till I get them all, and sell till I can buy rockhopper hides for 385 each and acrylia, and hynid manes at 300, and those 13 freaking words!! lol Actually no, I have to say I may NEVER buy those words, that mule has really caused me personal grief!!

maybe, on othmir now, pp in the camp to keep me in buffs and gate potions at least.

Actualy, i think the non-tradeskillers are worse.

When i see bazu/feran/murkglider blood in the bazaar for 5kp each, and *I* am the *ONLY* person on Test who has ever made/sold any of this armor and i cant sell the BPs (which take 4 bloods) for more than 13k any more (sold the first couple for 15k, but thats it, and if something doesnt sell, i lower the price every/every other day).

Theyre gonna have em sit in their bags for a LONG time.

the only conclusion i can make is they dont know squat about tradeskills have NO idea what they are for.

Oh, they are also trying to sell Black Bees for 5k. :boggle:

But then again, it IS test server, wheres theres never anything for sale worth a darn and the economy is sooo screwed up anyways..

25k for Flame/Ice/Cores. 2 people selling them and I am one of few people who would actually buy them.

Considering the potential sale value of Bazu Legs of Flame.. perhaps 150k wouldn't be over the top, just erks me seeing them for so much. I only need 2 more!
