It if was setup such that /ignore would block the messages, I think Gnormy's method would be the best. It preserves the level of "privacy" we currently have about our skill status, while adding the functionality we need: the ability to confirm our skill to a foreign party. If /ignore would block the /skill messages, then it would be no worse than the many other things people can do as far as spam: I can /say, /tell, /duel, food, instaclicky, or many other options to spam you too - adding one more to the list shouldn't be that bad.

Tradeskill AA's

I can't imagine it would be all that hard to put something in the INSPECT window and UI has an option to push a button and toggle to some kind of tradeskill abilities window.
1. Have the user defined ability to give a player that access ON/OFF in your menu so you don't have to let people know, but you can.
2. Player does inspect (and you can turn off inspect messages, so no spam to you), the inspect window has new button "TRADESKILLS", hit button and it list all skills and AA abilities.
