  • how do i get my body back from old paineel?

i was on my way to the vender in paineel to get my necromancer pet spelll for lvl 16 and i acidentally fell down that giant hole just as u enter the town i entered old paineel and hit the ground

    BOOM 20000 damage un-ding u have lost a lvl u r now lvl 15

i tried to get my body again but i missed the water by a long shot and realized i cant get my body by jumping and i cant summon it because u enter a new zone(old paineel ruins or sumthing like that). So how do i get ,y body back?

And one more question... if i enter paineel will the erudites kill me because im a gnome necro?

The doorway to enter the Ruins of Old Paineel (The Hole) is through the newbie yard past the Warrens zonein. The door is locked, but people could still wiggle through the door if shrunk. The door can be picked, or a key is sold in Paineel.

Once inside the zone, you should be able to summon your corpse.

It would require some big friends but one way is to have a bard sing the DA song for you at the top of the hole. The second the song hits you, you jump. DA should last long enough for you to hit the bottom unharmed. Once there, you can loot your corpse and gate safely away. If you don't have gate bring a potion or a friendly porter with you into the hole. You have a small area where you land where you should be safe. Watch out though, there are some big meanies in that room and you don't want to be wandering around.

Sorry, but I'm not sure the exact name of the DA song. If you found a high level bard though, I bet they would know what I was talking about.

The other option is to wait seven real life days and just go fetch your corpse from Shadowrest (safe zone you get to via PoK)

Grab a higher level necro, enter the Hole (from the entrance in the pool.. not the big, huge, gapping hole), and get your corpse summoned.

          Easy slow way.

          Shadowrest.

Your corpse will wind up in Shadowrest if it decays. Wait a week. Then go to Shadowrest thru the chick in PoKnowledge (east side of the library just a little south of "main bank") and get your corpse.

All other ways require you to get a mid-level+ necro/sk and have them summon the corpse from inside the zone to near the zone line. Well, all ways that aren't even more juggling to acomplish. It's pretty easy to /ooc in PoK asking for a bored necro/sk to do a single corpse summon in The Hole (what everyone calls the zone, despite the revamp and renaming) if you are willing to pay. (You MIGHT have a problem if you have multiple corpses in the zone. I take it you jumped in at least one more time, having mentioned missing the water, and if those corpses had coins/items on them they will stick around for a week too. In which case I don't know precisely how summoning corpses works. You might get "most recent" or "oldest" or "closest" or even "farthest" perhaps, you'd need to talk to a necro/sk to figure it out.)

Did I mention it's easiest (but least fun) to just wait a week?

Most anyone can wiggle thru the (exploit) door. Once someone is on the inside I -think- I remember right and they can open the door for you from the inside. (I just bought the key to avoid the wait)

The easy way to find out if the Heritics (Paineel faction) is Kill-on-Sight is to go out into the Paineel newbie zone and /con one of the skeleton guards. (The newbie zone section guards have a fairly small agro radius, if you run straight between them they don't agro.) It's pretty easy to become non-agro to Paineel. Hop into the Warrens and smack Kobolds around for a few hours/days. (Took me about 5 hours, but then again I was killing over a Kobold a minute. Level 55 enc pet tore them up.)

As for buying stuff in "strange" or "hostile" towns... Shared bank space. Buy it with a mule.

Be safe and good hunting, hope you get your gear back fast.
In My (Not Always) Humble Opinion, except where I quote someone. If I don't know I say so.
I suck at this game, your mileage WILL vary. My path is probably NON-optimal.

            thanks all
i am a necro btw but i didnt know how to get into the zone so i could summon my corpse but now i know.

i think i might do it the simple way tho just to avoid any complication because i died twice, i will just wait the week for shadowrest(not the first time ive done that). anyhow i just created a new wiz which i think is awsome to use so ill just use that for a week because im feeling rather lazy atm

The summon corpse spell summons the target's closest corpse. To get more than one of your corpses summoned, all you have to do is summon and clear the first before summoning the next. At level 15 you already have the SC spell too, so it's not really a big deal, all you need is as many coffins as you have corpses.

When I was GL of a newbish guild I carried a Hole key on me most of the time it was so frequent that people fell in or got their corpses stuck on an xp group gone bad there and I had to summon them. If you /ooc in PoK there's bound to be somebody who can just go open the door for you quickly. But then I'm not nearly patient enough to wait a week to get back to one of my toons!

Get into Paineel and jump No need for DA, no need for a summon, just jump (make sure you're looking down before you jump). Soon as you see the ground, /q. When you come back into the game, you'll fall safely ... wait a second. You're level 15? Never mind =P I mean, you can get a temp try, I don't remember how much damage I've taken falling, probably around 200. You could always create an erudite and practice the whole /qing thing until you get good at it as wel. But it works, my boyfriend and I do this whenever we need to start deep =) Good luck.

The other easy way, if you have a friend that is a cleric, is for them to DA themselves and jump in and res you (granted, this only works for the 3 game hours till your corpse rez timer runs out.)

You can be rezed after the 3 hours is up, and you will be returned to your body, you just won't get any exp back.

How about Levitate? look down and move forward instead of jumping.

Levitate gets stripped as soon as you zone in.

Since when?? Once the timer runs out, the message a cleric gets is the corpse is too old to rez.

Now a single corpse CAN be rezed multiple times as long as the time hasn't run out. But only the very first rez restores experience.

My main is a cleric by the way...

It was my understanding that one of the reasons the rez timer got put in was to avoid people doing exactly that - leaving bodies around Norrath, and having rez-based ports to wherever you left one for as long as the body lasted.

At this point, and since at least kunark era, you've only been able to rez a body with a non-zero rez timer, as far as I know.
