  • Metal Shaft - and who gotz it

da Tinkers got the Shaft again.

After the serious insult with GoD tinkering of <ugh> mana batteries - there were lots of overtures that something would be done differntly next time. Dev threads asked for players to submit recipes etc - this went on for almost 9 months.

Omens comes out - and man I gotta say, I think they could have done better with what they gave tinkerers.

Who gotz the metal shaft? Tinkers, datz who.

You know, I have to agree. There were so many cool and/or useful ideas in that thread. What we ended up with was such a measly little offering. Just not cool...

      What all did we get?

      Ice cream chrun
      Perpetual Motion Device
      Knife Summoner
Gem cutter (well, not new, but a new, important use).

Are there any other recipes under investigation, or is that it?

I think those were the only 3 tinkered items, potters did about as well with 4 charms (besides quest combines) that are tied to the OoW armor and have stats less than the wooden figurines. (First new things for potters in 4 expansions )

(see that Moderator tag - well that is for the Vazaelle marketplace, my posts and opinions should not be considered as anything but my own and not reflect poorly on the folks doing all the hard stuff here. )

You got a knife summoner? Nifty keeno cool! How much? I want one!

Other than that, I'll have to agree. The ice cream churn was a cool idea, but waaaay to hard to make, and not enough interest in ice cream because of the ice of velious bottleneck (say, you think it could be added to a merchant somewhere so we can purchase it to make ice cream with?).

Perpetual motion device sounds cool, might want one for my new gnome necromancer, but probably way out of my price range.

Might I take this time to once again beg for an item that summons bait? I keep running out in all the most... interesting places (PoN, PoV, PoD, even Tak) that would be inconvenient to have to run back for more bait. I got the fisherman's companion, so I got the rods and the drinks covered. All I need is the bait and I'm a happy fisherman.

The Ice of Velious is the only thing I do have for making ice cream, aside from churn parts, its the salt in my experience that is stupid-silly-obscenely rare......

              Ice of Velious

Not that it's a lot of help, but I've gotten several Ice of Velious lately in Sol A. I've been working on my smithing for the 8th shawl, and picked up 3 or 4 of these while there.

                Fisherman's Companion summons a pole.

The pole should have a random, but approximately 50% chance, of summoning /either/ booze or bait.

                Just to make things interesting.

"You freaking pole! I want bait this time, not more beer! You've given me 4 stacks of beer!"
                Delete pole, resummon pole.
                "NOOOO! NO MORE BEER!"
