  • So frustrated I can't even scream =/

Found a bunch of BD's, Diamonds, Black Sapphires, and Jacinths tucked away. Figured I'd do some trophy attempts with what cash I had. Made 3 seals, figuring I'd do smithing, then if lucky I'd do tailoring. Failed 3 smithing. Ok, not so bad, blew 9k. Went sold some stuff in bazaar at cheap prices fast like, got up another 12k. Gone in a few clicks.

Seven attempts at smithing trophy with 251 mod'ed skill and all I have to say for it is I could have bought my cleric an ornate bracer for all that.

Splunge, as people have said, the stats are only part of the value of the item. It is a trophy. The mere fact of possessing it is a source of tremendous satisfaction to many people. That is a matter of personal opinion, which nobody has the right to call wrong.

I already had my smithing and alchemy trophies when I maxxed brewing and made my brewing trophy. It replaced my geerlok in the bank and makes me smile every time I see it. Smiles are worth plenty.

All of that said... /comfort Silound. Talk about a rough day.

The gold medal for winning a race does nothing but gather dust on your self. TS Trophies are no different (Except the +50 CHA if you need it and the 100% WR bag;-).

Umm, for myself I prefer having a trophy I can get the mod from in my ammo slot instead of having to give up stats in my primary for a geerlok =)

            But that's just me

For me, I had to choose between my weapon, that had +8 or so STR on it, and my geerlok with +5% smithing. I chose the geerlok, because a higher success rate was more important. Now, with the trophy, I get both (actually, more than both, since the STR on the trophy is 10. Plus, I get a bunch of extra CHA for when I want to sell. I don't have to swap my steins in and out.)

I keep a brewing trophy on my druid as her permanent range slot item. If she was my main, I'd take the trouble to upgrade it to something with better stats.

I keep a brewing trophy on my monk for the token charisma, and for whenever I need to do some brewing.

Notice I picked a pretty easy skill to max first. I have a brewing trophy - big deal: my druid walks around with 'Expert Tailor' over her head. I chose to make the trophy for practical purposes rather than a mark of achievement. Frankly when I made my first one I was pretty gutted that the % increase wasn't any higher than a geerlok, although the 100% WR bag is one other factor that makes it worth making for me.

I agree that generally, they aren't much of a trophy, and I won't be making any more for my 'main' tradeskills.

Sorry, i guess im just too practical a guy to see the value in trophies nowadays.

Make it a no-fail combine at 240 skill. (or 250 modified skill)
                  Give it 25hp/mana/endurance
Give it 1 charge of summon a DROPABLE LORE 1.5wt 100% WR bag.
Give it a UNIQUE and nice graphic when weilded. A graphic ONLY trophies get.
Give trophy weilders a 'Grandmaster XXXXXX' title.

Then ill see it as something worthwhile to get your skill up and make.

... but then maybe im just insane...

never a no fail combine, IF the idea of the droppable bag were accepted.

                      +hp/mana/end = not a bad idea.

I really like the unique graphic idea.... something scalable to weilder size, so it wouldn't dwarf a gnome or be too small for an ogre... and... if you wanted to wield it in range, maybe it could look like it was slung across your back, hip-to-shoulder style, so you could still wield primary/secondary, and charge into battle with all 3 ! Phear my Brewing Trophy, mobs!

... yes, i'm going to eat breakfast/lunch now... i'm far too odd sans food, no? : p

The Grandmaster Whatever idea is good too, and honestly, I think they /should/ do this. /nod /nod.

                      and much /comfort to Silound.

Artisans seals are about 5k in msot bazaars. (costs like 3500(?) to make em).
                          Haversacks are 5-6k.

You get a free lore haversack for spending your 5k, and you get a 25hp 50cha 0AC geerlok that looks cool as a reward for gettting 240-250 in your respective tradeskill.

                          MUST MAKE BREWING HARDER FIRST!

On 7th Hammer, the seals typicaly go for 9K and the lowest I've seen was 8K.
                            So I crafted 'em myself...

Look at it from the other side...
10 Str, 10 Wis, 10 int to go with the 50 Cha ( and 25HP ??) is nothing to sneeze at. to buy a comperable Str/Int 'range slot' item for my Wiz or Enc would easily blow over 4 tries at the trophy, and I still wouldnt have a Haversack.
