    Howdy,

There is a simple way to make a ton of plat.

    http://mboards.eqtraders.com/eq/show...ight=pile+plat

To summerize .... off other tradeskillers.
In My (Not Always) Humble Opinion, except where I quote someone. If I don't know I say so.
I suck at this game, your mileage WILL vary. My path is probably NON-optimal.

Perhaps a nicer way to put it is that some people are willing to pay for the convenience of having you do subcombines and farming. You won't make a lot of pp off of them but could make a steady profit and probably wind up with 1k pretty quick

Things to look into - celestial essance (maybe only 1 pp profit each but no fail and they sell pretty fast), heady kiola (impossible to find on my server right now! I'd easy pay a 2 pp per profit margin if somebody would make me a couple hundred ), leather padding if you can farm your own stuff (see the Luclin route) or if you wanted to invest some of your brewing money into a bit higer profit margin stuff. The key is to watch your skills and make sure that you are at least trivial or a little over on the padding. Tailoring is reasonably cheap to get up to the 80s and it will be much cheaper than failing lots of padding. Look into the freebie quests on the Queen of Thorns to get started.

If you just wanted to farm and skip the combines, hides and silks are the way to go until you are big enough to hunt CC for the velium. Spiderling silk is a very good seller but thats because its so time consuming to get a stack. If you can be getting exp while killing the mobs that drop the stuff though, its more than worth while.

And yes, I'm a little bitter that being a pharmer is the quickest way to get plat. (once you have a pile of plat you can pharm the really cool stuff and make the high-end tradeskill stuff and make a true killing in the market... but to do that you have to get high skills... and to get high skills you have to spend a ton getting there... and to get the ton to spend getting there you have to generate the plat... by pharming components to others ahead of you on the skill curve... viscious cycle isn't it?)

I'll agree its not the best cycle out there but it is nice that newbies can get into the market relatively easy.

Yah, after becoming a 1750 tradeskiller, and having a 200 alchemist and a 250 tinkerer... vendor-diving for tradeskill items and selling them in the bazaar is the best way to make money.

I still vendor dive all the time and buy up everything i can get my hands on... Anything i dont use personally (spider silks) i sell for a very modest markup (no need to gouge test server people, i got plenty of money, and theres almost nothing to buy... ever.)

I also vendor-dive for stuff to sell, but I find more than just TS supplies, I have found the History of the Di'zak on a vendor, sold that in a New York minute in /auc for 100k, just the other day I found a SCHW for 7p and a Grey Flesh Tunic for about 1p on a vendor, sold those too.

The list goes on and on.....

We started out with very little money and lots of stuff we wanted, and now we have plenty of money to fund our TS addictions, but we are at the point where we can no longer "buy" upgrades and our twinks are all twinked to the max and we still have a huge bank account.

And we have never gone out to pharm anything to sell for plat, we sell what falls in our laps while going about the business of having fun.

Get familiar with quest items that are in demand and know what to look for on vendors, I am always amazed and delighted at what people will vendor.

                  Good Luck =)

According to your profile you're only level 13. Hun, at that level don't worry about having more plat than you need for your spells and food. I know,.. once you caught the tradeskill bug you wanna do so much.. seriously though, go level, group, explore. I was bit by the tradeskill bug days after I started playing and I musta been level 40 before I ever got 1k in the bank. Now, I float between 20 & 30k depending on my skill up runs. Also if you're in a guild, post a note somewhere asking them to save you all forages and meats they get that they dont need. Then work baking & brewing first, and turn around and give finished goods back to your guild, what goes around comes around. Alot of the people out there will happily offer you PP for the finished goods even if you offer to give them.

I have a level 10, completely untwinked toon. Killing only experience-giving mobs and selling drops to vendors, and also selling tradeskill components from the same mobs in the bazaar, I have made about 700pp. I have all my spells, a full set of newbie armor, and gear in every slot.

In just 10 levels. So... I started baking :-)

Thats the key though, you know what the value on the tradeskill stuff is. I think a lot of newbies wind up ditching some really valuable stuff.

another alternative is to kill diseased/giant field rats in misty thickets for plague rat tails. I made about 100pp in a few levels there, while the diseased rats were still dark blue.
