Bazaar prices and OoW

Well, I found 7 flies on a merchant for under a plat, so I was happy when soemone bought them each for 10k, they lasted all of thiry seconds once my trader was up. I'd happily farm them if I knew where they dropped. Can't be that rare

What is sad is that HQ Lion Pelts are being sold (as in successfully sold) for 25k to 100k on some servers. Now that they have more then one use, people are taking advantage of desperate pocket books.

Welcome to needing two (2) for the Rogue Epic 1.5. In addition to being rare as %*&#, its mindless farming of greens (which bothers most of us at times), and there are people who have no use for plat any more (gear is all NO DROP, raid equipment) so you take whatever is available.

However, as for the hit on the Elemental Tradeskill market, I have seen an enormous influx of items from the Elemental Planes because of the level jump to 70. EPs are perma camped and most every mob is killed in Earth and Fire constantly, bringing tons more items to market. I don't imagine that this will last a long time, as a good majority of the ubers are already hitting 70 (and some of the not-so-ubers are rapidly approaching 70), but take advantage of it while you can and profit while the getting is good.

The annoying thing is how one idiot can distort the bazaar prices for an item for weeks.

On Tarew Marr, Discordant Scoriae were being priced at 10-15k each with a few showing up from time to time at 5k or even less. Then one person posted one for 75k about a week ago. Two other people saw that and undercut the first one by 2-5k. A week later, the price wars have driven them all the way down to 40-45k.

If people were paying these prices, the gouging would be ridiculous but understandable. However, as far as I can tell, noone has sold any Discordant Scoriae since the price went up. If any have sold, But people who have no idea what they are used for laugh at offers of 10k because "the bazaar price is 50k+".

Gouge? Yes I shall, and gouge while it's good. I only have a 188 smith on Quellious where I'm still spending most of my time and decided to make the most of the magnetic smithing while I could. With not much plat in my bank I invested half of it into buying a damaged mangnetized pauldron and converted it into bricks, which were turned into 6 bolts and a couple patch plates (and grab some copper sheets), which I then charged in what I think of as high prices. Sell to the smiths who are making an item they are selling at 4x the cost. From there I kept up the high prices and as I sold pieces kept most of the plat and invested in enough to keep just a few items on my trader.

Now if someone would only undercut me, someone was with bolts but haven't seen them lately, and I was happy for it. The more people who start doing that can help drive prices down on what will eventaully (and quickly) become a saturated niche market in my mind, but it drives it toward being a dependable niche market where more reasonable prices will become semi established with a steady supply of magnetized items coming in while MPG is a hot area to hunt in. I'm not lowering my prices until compitition forces me too or things just don't sell enough, but I'm not going to just drop my prices to what might be a little above what I purchased things for if I'm the only one selling them.

And I'm kinda just selling to the smith who doesn't want to waste an item they bought by turning it into subcombines or the person who wants to buy pieces to have a higher lvl smith turn into an upgrade for them.

Greedy chaos at first, but very easily controlled when compition enters the picture. I expected compition the first day I had these items out since they were so easy to make (bazaar shopping) with all the people who have done the aid grimel quests and weren't dedicated tradeskillers, but it still surprises me not to find them out there.
