  • Bazaar prices and OoW

Well, I used to think that the bazaar prices were outrageous before, but the new stuff from OoW makes previous high bazaar prices look like chump change.

The skins/hides for the new tailoring is going between 1k and 5k each when they are available. The bloods are between 5k and 7.5 k. The Augs are 5 - 10k each. Etc, etc. I won't be doing anything with tradeskills from OoW for quite a while. Maybe once I reach 65th level, and the next expansion is released, I might go and purchase OoW just so I can try to farm my own stuff. Which by that point, all the recipies will be known, and there would be no point in trying to discover new recipies.

/sigh. guess the rich ubers get richer, and the casual players get what they have always gotten...

On CT bazaar I've so far seen one Pristine Feran Hide, one Pristine Bazu Skin (7k), and a few Pure Discordant Bloods (3k-5k). No augs yet, and only a couple of spell runes, which sold for around 100k.

I think the price for PoP tradeskill items was actually higher (and for a few items still is). I imagine that in a few months these items will be relatively cheap, because flags aren't needed for most OoW zones. Be glad that you can look forward to farming your own someday... in some other expansions you couldn't.

Remember this is still a very new expansion. Right now the gougers are like leeches in a rainy season, trying to feed as much as they can before the place starts to dry out. On my server a radiant cut +12 stat augs are up in bazaar for 100k. Which is clearly absurd since you get these from any old mob there and my druid got 3 of them killing greens while getting her port spell - components for which are currently selling at roughly 20k for all items needed for the first set. That should give you some idea as to how insane the raw prices are. I can see the named drops being high for now, and possibly not going too much lower for a while since apparently the named are spawning quite a bit and might get reduced. But the tradeskilled and quest stuff is soo out of whack right now you really should not take these prices seriously. I mean, 50k for a raw (no stats) magnetic armor piece? Considering they drop rarely from green cons I can solo in my sleep, no thanks, these prices will drop. In fact on Xev they already are dropping.

Hehe, last night's Gem Cutter prices made me snicker. One for 100k and another for 7k. Times like that I make a mental note of the name of the seller at 100k to avoid them in the future.

I've noticed that effect on Xegony... though nobody is selling Augments.

One thing that makes me sad though...

Someone was selling Magnetic Leggings for 40k and Magnetic BP for 42k.

Why does that make me sad, you ask?

          Well, a couple of reasons:
          1) It hits the value of Livestone Plate hard. And with Liquefied Earths still going for 12k+ (and other Elemental Smithing items near non-existant), Livestone Plate is pointless to make.
          2) The "trickle down" effect hammers everything in it's path... I really need to clear out my supplies for BD Cultural soon before it becomes valueless.
          3) I would like to buy that Magnetic armour... but then I wouldn't wear it! I'd be too hopeful of getting Lightning Orbs to upgrade it, and too afraid that the upgrade combine couldn't be done on armour that's been equiped (and thus made No Drop)!

I'm just glad the only the only things I sell are bracers, and those magnetic bracers are absolutely no threat

True... but we haven't seen what the Charged Magnetic Bracer looks like yet.

On Xev regen Augs are selling for around 100k, which is insane!. Most other augs are in the price range of 5k to 30k. Runes well... /sigh cheapest one I saw was 150k.

The tradeskill prices are based almost entirely on the "tradeskill" tag. People don't know what the item they got makes, but it has a tradeskill tag, and other tradeskill items like those nihilite thingys and those highly polished gems sell for a lot, so they set the price high so they won't lose out on what it could be worth. This especially happens when people see that they have the only such item for sale - false sense of rarity. As more items hit the market and people get some idea what things make and how rare they really are, prices should come down to the usual gouger level as opposed to the extreme gouger level they're at now.

The droppable items are much the same. Right now, with not many in The Bazaar, everyone assumes they'll be quite rare (look at the stats, how could they not be!) and prices accordingly. As soon as the camps that drop these things start getting camped 24/7 and the campers get their items for personal use, look for prices to drop.

I snapped up a .vs Disease Aug for 1800pp on Xegony. Saw a poison one for 2k, but I couldn't make up my mind and someone else grabbed it.

I found a Dust of Discord on a vendor for 2sp, so I'm going to be trying the combine for the White Gold Inlay... I think the hard thing to find will be the Trean Flies & Slugworms.

I have to agree with this. I was in an xp group with two guildies exploring Dranik Scar about a week after OoW came out. The mobs where lb to me with a few db scattered in, while yellow/db to my two guildies. We came across a number of items that none of us really wanted and the group broke up before we did a split. I vendored everything without a TS tag and gave the rest to my trader.

No one responded to my price check on them and I'm not one to spam till I get an answer. I did a /bazaar for the items and didn't find any of them already listed. I set most of them to 100PP just to see what would happen. One item a tanned ruined feran hide (or something like that) i just searched for "feran" and saw a very nice robe that I had a feeling was tailored. I had no idea if the ruined hide was worthless or not, but with the 150K price of the robe I figured it wouldn't hurt anything to put the hide up for 1K. I never expected to actually get that price for something that I got in a mid 50 xp grind, but I did within 48 hours. To me this doubled what I had in the bank at the time and so I don't feel bad for doing it as the person who bought it likely made a huge profit off of it.

guess the rich ubers get richer, and the casual players get what they have always gotten...
This I can't agree with as my above example shows that while the uber do get richer even a casual player such as myself can make a decent profit off of this. I've since seen people mention this hide going for as much as 5K so how much you make is just dependent on what how much you are willing to run with the bad system you have been given.

What is sad is that HQ Lion Pelts are being sold (as in successfully sold) for 25k to 100k on some servers. Now that they have more then one use, people are taking advantage of desperate pocket books.

I agree that Bazaar OoW prices are outrageous. I'm sure they'll come down once the supply/demand stabilizes.

I've looted two trean flies and two dust of discord from trash mobs in OoW. There were two trean flies for sale in the Bazaar --- 19k and 20k. There was no dust of discord for sale.

I looted a +4 sv cold attuneable augment from a trash mob. None were for sale in the Bazaar. Similar augments currently cost 10k each! Someone was selling the +4 strength augment for 80k!!

                            On Xegony.

Unmodified Flow Stone augments, average price: 5k I have seen 'em for lower, even picking up a vs. Poison one for only 150pp.

Trean Flies: The only times I've seen these (twice), the asking price was 5k. I grabbed one, hoping to be able to trade 'em for Slugworms.

Slugworms: Never see 'em for sale.

Magnetized BP: Down to 40k-ish now. And the price for the unrepaired Magnetized stuff is typically the exact same price as the finished pieces right now!

                            Dust of Discord: 20 & 50kpp.

Discordant Scoraie (sp): Never see it for sale. I'd expect the asking price would be 90k.

                              I've said this before, but....

You can't "overcharge" or "gouge" in eq. You can ask more that anyone is willing to pay, but you can't make them buy anything. If one person is willing to pay the asking price, then it isn't too high.

If something is priced too high, no one will buy it.

Remember, just because someone has something you want, it in no way entitles you to it. You have no right to it.
