After starting to TS about a year and a half ago for the shawl quest I quickly decided I *hated* tailoring. Even so, after I mastered quivers and handed em out to newbs I had a thought that somehow, someway I WOULD beat tailoring and made it my number one goal. So I did the norm and made handmade backpacks and Wu's till they came out my ears. Spent hours farming silks and skins. Went on to making ribbons. Moved to the robes (I despise Sylvan berries!) After spending a few months with BAGS of ribbons, dyes, swatches and the like I threw my hands in the air (Nilitim's pg. 115 went from 5 plat to 500, HELLO??), gave all of the half finished stuff I could to my tribute woman and moved on to the dreaded Solstice Robes, sigh. OK, fine. No one was selling the Gem Studded chains on CT when I looked. Hmmm...ok, worked JC up to 250, quite on accident mind you, I wasn't paying attention and dinged it 201 =/. Put some AA's into tradeskilling, put my tailoring over the line, made myself some gem studded chains. Borrowed a friends cleric, bought and memmed Imbue Emerald and set to work. 4 hours of medding for mana later I had 2 bags of gems. Spent the next 8 hours doing subcombines and making Tunare silk. Leveled tailoring to 223. STILL managed to spend over 60K. Woke up next morning and found my husband had deleted my toons (GRRRR) /petition. My toon was restored 2 days previous and I lost all the skills I had gotten and Plat I had spent, sigh. Ok. Get mad. Yesterday. Buy premade silks to the tune of about 100K. Skill up to 245. Log on today, remembering I'd gotten a highly polished gem drop in Tactics last night, manage to fail at a combine for Bloodmetal earring of engagement. Sick of Solstice robes and ticked off at myself for buying everything and wasting almost all my plat, I grab some Othmir furs. Nothing. I've not done EXP in prolly 2 months. Tailoring has taken over my nightmares, I tell ya. I spend hours every day vendordiving, farming, bazaaring, clicking combine. But......now I see.... It's just NOT meant to be that I will hit 250 in tailoring =/

You will make it, eventually. I've spent many a night mass imbuing emeralds for a friend mastering tailoring. We chatted and joked and cheered every eventual skill point. Hopefully you can get some fun along the way.

In the meantime, talk with your husband about why he deleted your characters. Sounds like that's more of a serious faction problem than GMing tailoring is a skill up nightmare!
