  • How can I forage more? :ANSWER:

#1. link your forage button to one of your arrow keys Left/right
    #2. Grab a SOW
#3. then ask youre friendly neighborhood Bard for the level 49 Selo's song.. Lasts 2.5 minutes after you leave the bard...and stacks with Sow, Bih'li.
#4. RUN to whatever zone you need to get to instead of offering 100P for a port/tl. You'll probably get there faster than if you waited around trying to find someone to port you.

As a bard, I run EVERYWHERE. The only time I accept ports is for raids when there's a need to get somewhere in a hurry, and even then if alot of people are waiting on our porters I can still run there faster than waiting for a port.

I always have roots/berries/fruits/veggies/pods of water coming out my ears.

Pods of water.. 4+ a bottle makes a flask of water you can use in tradeskilling just like bought water. Roots can be used for making fishbone darts.. Yeah it's slightly expensive, but it's a consumable tradeskill item for pullers and you get the side benefit of the prepared fish for your mules to eat (or give them out to a newbie.) Make pies from the berries.. another food to pass out... I give stacks to guildees for their force feeding times to save their stat foods.

If you don't have a forager.. make a woodelf druid you have 8 slots... as a woodelf you get a base 50 in forage at level 1, and being a druid you can max out at 200 by level 40, lower if you get the foraging machete. My bard is my main, but I still have a woodie druid. She forages/fishes/and makes leather padding for me, usually all at the same time.hit forage, fish, fish , padding, fish, forage...Do this in CS.. catch cobalt cod and forage for the stuff you need all at once. and you can do it invis..

FYI, this is flat out untrue. Selos only artificially stacks with SoW or any kind. The Bards whined and moaned for years about it, and now they allow the icons to stack, but you do not get the added benefit of SoW or SoW Premium until Selo's wears off.

1> Go to Socials.. title one Forage then

line 1: /doability # (where # is the slot you have forage in)

        Line 2: /pause 5

        line 3: /autoinventory

2> Take that new social and add it to your hotkeys..

3> Macro left or right arrow to that hotkey

** I macro'd it to the same hotkey in each bank just so I don't accidentally do something I don't want to.....like attack or whatever.

While this is true, this means that if you DO have SoW from some other source, you won't get it wiped out by Selo's and be at normal run speed (whatever is normal for you that is) once you hit your destination.

But what does having SoW have to do with foraging?

It would depend on what zone you were foraging in.

For example, not all zones have a zone out that is the same as the zone in. Especially PoP zones. You want to plop your rear down and forage the instant you zone in, that's fine, but don't cry if you get trained by dumb people.

The Sow/Selo's is just to get you going rather than waiting on a port. as you run to the zone you want (at high speed) you can forage on the way vs. a port which basically gives you no chance to forage.

By that line of thinking, you'd be much better off with walk on so you have more chances to forage.

yeah, but most people want to get where they are going NOW. so at least by using SoW you can get there faster. If people have even a smidge of patience, they just wander and forage, this is for the impatient who want to do their gaming and still forage SOMETHING sometime.

Is it still true that if you bind a /doability to a hotkey that the binding will affect ALL characters who login on that installation of EQ? I know it used to work like that.

As far as I know, yes, that's still true.

The keyboard setup is save between characters. So if you move "duck" to the "P" key for some reason on one character, duck will be "P" for all your other characters too.

Since the binding /doability to a key is basically adding one of the arrow keys as an activator for a hotkey button (ie, '9' and '<-' activating the #9 hotkey slot), it is true for all characters as well.
