I would just like to thank all the offline plat buyers rushing to get their tradeskills to 300. You have no idea of the value of the stuff you sell back to the vendors. I picked up 60+ superb leater glove patterns and 20+ superb silk patterns for about 70 pp each. The armor I will make and sell will give me an obscene profit, all because in your laziness and rush to be first you didn't do the slightest bit of research. If you had done the Elaborate task and sold the armor for skill ups you would never ever need to buy plat offline again.

don't generalize - some people may simply not have room to store all those templates, especially as they stack in weird amounts.

I totally agree generalizing is bad form...however since I have been using that vendor regularly, and in fact checked it 3 hours before and it was blank, and the fact that there was a progression of the templates in tailoring I am pretty sure I am correct.
My vent is more along the lines of what has started to become a huge issue in the game with a large amount of people. The spam from people that want to sell me plat and power levelling. Always a level 1 toon, always deleted before they get caught. I attribute this to the offline plat buyers. Where there is a market there is advertising.
I wonder about the state of the game. Am I alone in thinking that tradeskills mean less than nothing now when a credit card with a $750 balance can max you out in everything? I do not post here often unless it is to link a recipe I worked out. I have been around for awhile.
I am just boggled SoE would let things get to this state. I realize some people will use the argument that their time is limited, but isn't all our time limited? I work, I go to school, I have a son that requires my attention. To think that now I am going to be subjected to spam tells in a game I love because some people have no pride and use any means to take the shortest easiest least meaningful way to do anything sort of repulses me. I have to blame the root, and it is the people that use those sources that are the cause. SoE has let this get out of hand.
I take a lot of pride in the fact that every tradeskill point I have earned has been earned in game. I just wonder what it means any more? Maybe I am better off just buying a completely Ebayed toon with all flags in an uber guild. I see that as the next foregone conclusion. A guild of Ebayed raiders all gimped from open raids, or as a scheme to make cash, in to everything. They could call themselves Storebought...
