....definitely one of those subjects that can and does get my back up at times and along with a call to a new dentists office had me overreacting just a tad!
    ------------------
Me: Good Morning, I'd like to schedule an appt. for my mom to see the dentist, but before we start I need to know if it is handicap accessible as she is in a wheelchair.

Dentist office: Oh yes, you can walk in from the parking lot (poor choice of words, but... okay), no problem at all for a wheelchair (this fixed it).

    Me: That's great. (sets appt.)

Dentist office: Is your mom able to get out of the wheelchair?

Me: (pause) well.... I'll be there and can move her to the chair if necessary, but in the past, she has had the work done while sitting in the wheelchair whenever possible as she really isn't very mobile. Why do you ask?

Dentist office: well, there are 2 small steps to get to the treatment rooms...

This happens quite frequently and it's annoying. I Am however, greatful that the person I spoke to Did ask... too many times we've gotten to an appt. to find that while the reception area is on the ground floor, the doctor is on a different floor or there are a number of steps to traverse...

      parking

I deliver pizza for a living, and still never park in an open handicap spot. Although, I do park my car running, in the fire lane, directly blocking the handicap ramp....

      I may be a real #$%.
