  • Rave: Good pickup LDoN.

Log on at the EF camp, after a decent LDoN with Kiztent and Nhinx some hours back.

    Cleric_01 says "Hail, Noishpa"
    Cleric_01 says "Hail, Noishpa"
Cleric_01 says "Want a LDoN? We have CLR,WAR,NEC,ENC, and SHM"

    You have joined the group.

This was an AWESOME group. The cleric was on his game. I found out later he was botting the shaman, but it wasn't obvious. The chanter was on top of his game, and the warrior was slightly-undergeared, but more than made up for it with skill.

The necro was from an Elemental guild, and very powerful, and nice. After the first adventure, he left, and we got an equally nice rogue.

2 adventure, 2 successes, 102 points, and Dinged AA 22.

My only complaint was that each adventure had two name, each dropping a Delightful Orb of a Face Mask of Mana. First adventure Cleric got the orb, and the enchanter the mask. Second adventure, the cleric got the mask, and the encanter the orb.

I really wanted that mask. *cry* The second time it dropped, I rolled a NINE, out of 1000.

/cry. Oh well, I made new /friends with late-night, early morning hours.

Somebody would actually group with you?! Looks like you had a blast. I know a Druid back on Povar that misses ya.

    *hugs*

Smalltim is the best enchanter on, or under, the face of Norrath.

      HANDS. DOWN.

If Timmy wants my services as a paladin, he can have them anytime. I'd walk from Dalnir to Everfrost just to buff his pet. And that's how it is.

Gelcea has awakened a Frostfoot soldier!
Itzena Alhazared, Revenant of {Planeteers}, Vallon Zek. And also a seamstress.
Gelcea Macha, Wandering Animist of Tarew Marr. Will be a smith, one day.

Do as I do, dual box LDoN.
Don't have to share the loot and the win is always the question of your skill and not the rest of the group.

Normal LDoN dual boxed is a blast, always need to push to the limit to win it within the time limit.
Maybe when OoW comes out with the new level cap I might be able to win hard too.

What can I say, I might be playing a cleric these days but I will always be a soloing necro deep down in my heart.

            You make me blush, woman.

Phabos, Myself (As Smalltim), Nhinx, Kiztent's Magician, Itzena's Beastlord, and a random magician who was LFG did a Miragul dungeon. Things were going well, mostly single pulls, some doubles, and we were well on the way to victory. And then the fit hit the shan.

All of a sudden, we've got 5-6 mobs in camp. I started cursing loud enough for my roomates to poke their head in, and went to work. 5 mobs drooling, slowed, and awating death. It took a while, but I kept the mobs mezzed and remezzed, and we lived. (Even though Itzena's beastlord decided to randomly break one of my mezzes. /glare)

A little later, when I started breathing again, I remarked that I didn't believe how well I kept the calm.

The scene repeated itself a few minutes later, with only 4 this time, but I locked stuff down again, and we ended up winning easily.

Total deaths for the adventure? ZERO.

Most of you know Smalltim was a powerleveled twinked chanterbot. I was never sure if I had the nerves or skill required to be an enchanter. I now don't have that crisis of confidence anymore. Phabos and Nhinx couldn't stop telling me what a great job I did.

Thought the minimum was three for a LDoN?

(Haven't played much this semester so I'm probably just behind the times.)
In My (Not Always) Humble Opinion, except where I quote someone. If I don't know I say so.
I suck at this game, your mileage WILL vary. My path is probably NON-optimal.

You are correct, the min limit to get adventure is 3 characters in the group, I usually log in a friend of mine for that and remove him from the adventure before I zone in so he doesn't get a fail in case I mess up something.

                  *giggles maniacially*

I saw Nhinx sit and med during combat.

I saw her cast complete heals.

                  *wanders off giggling*

We managed 3 55-hard wins with a pick up group yesterday. My mage (now halfway through 52, started 1 kill in), Nhinx, a 56 BST, a 56 WAR, a 58 RNG and a 56 ROG. We swapped the RNG and ROG for a WAR and PAL (both 58?)for the last win. Drops were the same as a 60-normal and augments fell like before GoD was released.

I myself looted three augments (http://www.magelo.com/eq_view_profile.html?num=37514). Two of them were simple bottom feeding, but resists never hurt anyone. Tack on 200pp in cash. Plus I managed to get a copy of Orb of Exploration for my mage. Totally unplanned on my part, but very cool (it's an orangy sparkly thing when you wear it (but you want to put it in ammo), plus it gives see invis and UV).

Those weren't heals. Those were LoH on a short timer. *nod nod* (Shut up, elf, you're embarrassing me.)

Best of all, Kiz (SK and shaman) and I took on an adventure today... just the two of us... and kicked its butt. I died once, but we still managed to finish with 20+ minutes to spare.

I do lots of three person LDoNs. My warrior, husband's chanty, and a RL friend's shaman are all we need most of the time. We tried a hard the other day just the three of us. The exp was great, though it did turn out to be too much that time. Normal ones work out better.
Every once in a while I get a really nice pick up group with one of my(many) toons(I also occasionally get really awful ones...but sometimes those make good stories afterwards).

Sumamael inspired me to give it a try. Was fun to take a crack at a LDoN with 2/3 people there. It was actually moderately challenging until we got everything under control and figured out how to work things.

We could've done it with no deaths too. Of course, it was a 60 normal. I'd be interested to see how we'd do against a named there.

I'd be interested to see just what it would take to leave Nhinx a terrified, gibbering wreck who hides in the corner like a High Elf with one finger on Divine Barrier and the other on CH.

We controlled a 3 pull without any deaths. The named can't be that much harder.

Anyway, I'd pay good money to get pictures of you medding while I fight a single.

I have personally no idea how hard the level 60 normal LDoN named are, the 65 versions are hitting for up to tripple 599, slowable and summoning. So as rule of thumb I would say they hit almost double as hard as the normal mobs.
They are still tankable by a necro after slow with a little cleric overtime healing, though they take more time to die.

So far only two things could stop my march-o-success in dual boxing LDoN.

The first failure was in GuK when 7 mobs landed on me after a pull even tho I pacified the room before. The time it took to recover from that pull killed all hopes of wining it.

The second failure was in MM, I had a double pull and a cleric mob kept CHing due to stun/mez resists and I have slowly gone oom on both chars. Lost this one by 1min.

I'm sticking to MM for now, mostly undead zone where I can slow/mez and more forgiving on pulls than Guk.
