[That would be me. Nothing like sitting on my ass for 15 minutes while the group runs around to catchs MGBs and buy KEIs so we can do content I can 2 box.]

If you're willing to wait for me to med up from fizzling an entire bar of mana on my stinkin' hammer (or put up with me + Club of the Ice Ocean) then I'm more than willing to go anywhere you'll take me with only the buffs (Temp, BAOTR) I can cast on myself. *looking proudly indignant*

That day saw the creation of the hotkey:

Yeah, I tell people to quit wasting my time when they claim they have to go get buffs in pok before they can do anything, then I disband and go back to soloing in vxed.

I've been /petitioned against because I refused to SOW someone, claiming he saw me SOW a bunch of people.

The GM and I had a good laugh over it.

I even at one point had a hotkey:

/reply FYI - Rogues cannot SOW, heal, buff, bind, port, nuke, DoT, cure disease, cure poison, rez, KEI, clarity, breeze, bless, dam shield,

          (you get the point)

But I still get it today. When the heck does a ALC, DRU, or whoever else can SOW become a BLACKGUARD?

Petitioned? Does that mean if I don't SoW someone because they acted like a jerk, that a GM can make me do it? Does that mean if I bug a chanter to death so they refuse to give me a KEI, a GM can make them? This could lead to all kinds of mischief.

I can't even believe they got an answer to that petition.

I believe, and the answer above seems to support, that the GM is there to assist you in laughing in their face.

I think I go to the opposite extreme. The only time I'll ask for any sort of buff is when I'm in a group with the person that's going to cast it. If I'm grouping with an enchanter, I expect clarity. After all, they expect me to cast large damaging spells on the mobs we're fighting. Anything that keeps my mana bar from dropping too quickly helps the whole group.

Recently this has happened to me a lot. Here I am taking my mage's guise because it seems to happen to her a lot for some reason:

                    Obnoxiousnoob: Hail, Csimene.
                    Me: Hello.
                    Obnoxiousnoob: Hail, Csimene.
                    Me: Yes?
                    Obnoxiousnoob: Hail, Csimene.
                    Me: What?
                    Obnoxiousnoob: Hail, Csimene.
                    Csimene: <starts gate>

I mean, what do I do? Say, "Oh, happy day! You've figured out the 'hail' command!"

"Are you busy?" generally gets "Why?" for a response, except if it's from a good friend at which point I'll probably say "What did you need, hon?" If I get the dreaded dewdspeek version "r u bz?" I don't even respond. If I'm not even worth typing out the words and you force me to translate it, it's not worth my attention.

Pet peeve of all time for Milletoux, my cleric: being asked for a rez without first telling me the following pertinent facts:

                    (1) where you need the rez
                    (2) if you even know where your body is
                    (3) how long I have to do it -- i.e. is there 15 minutes on your rez timer such that I have to do it RIGHT NOW, or did you just die such that I can finish up what I am doing first?

I had a now-former guildie ask me this question right after I got my epic. Proud of the fact that at 54 I was clicky, when he asked for a rez I told him sure, I could come do it now. Stupid me. He told me he'd died in Crystal Caverns. Grr, very much out of the way, but I dragged my butt across Great Divide and Eastern Wastes, only to zone in and find out that not only had he died here, but he had died deep in, was unfamiliar with the zone, and had no real idea where his body was. I ended up logging onto my housemate's account, getting her 65 necro and summoning his ass out first. He asked how much the coffin was so he could pay me back; I told him (it was one of the expensive ones because, of course, he was a little too high for the cheapie) at which point he told me he couldn't afford it and then promptly asked me for temp.

Note the word "former" in the above paragraph.

Fortunately, I usually get a bit of pre-rez warning...

Soontobedeadranger tells the guild, "Man, this monk cannot pull."
Soontobedeadranger tells the guild, "I can't believe we came here without an enchanter."
                      *silence*
Recentlydeadranger tells the guild, "Anybody near (some way far out zone) that can rez me?"

And as a Dark Elf, one who is NOT popular in all the best cities... I am not moving from my spot at the ovens until I see..

You have been given permission to drag Recentlydeadranger's corpse.

Other than that, I don't at all mind giving someone a summoned bag (or toolbox, what the hey) with a Chipped Bone Rod, a couple of invis potions, and an EB potion (and a single SoW potion if I have one handy). I've done that several times when I'm about to log and I see someone in their 20's who just came down with a bad case of dirt nap, is stuck in PoK, and has the mother of all CR's coming up.

Yeah, it's a few plat for that stuff, but if it helps them out AND saves me a half hour walk to do the actual rez and get them back 5 minutes worth of experience... it's worth it.

Heh, that's why he's Soontobedead: He's letting the monk pull.

In all honesty, with the exception of indoor zones, I've only a couple of times had a situation where I'd rather have the monk pull.

I take the risk of asking people already camping some place fun and out of the way if they have room. 90 percent of the time it pays off, the other times.. "Can I get a summon from the most out of the way, 20 minute run, you have to have a port out of zone you can think of?" Oh heck, no porter! or group member 1: Thanks for group guys, group member 2, yeah cya all later, group member 3, thanks for the summons!

Once at least, when the beastlord without gate potions realized after I summoned him and the cleric rezzed him that he couldn't get out of Howling Stones, we just xp'd there for a bit instead of the norm of getting out of dodge.

I find the cost of 68 pp for a coffin, even for that level 12 bard who somehow died pretty far in Cazic Thule as I was farming the entrance, is well worth my time. Just take the summon. No I dont want to drag you! No I dont want to explain to you where to buy the right kind of coffins for 30 mins.

Sitting making MTPs I have been know to see and have conversations like this:
PallyFriend being a friend who's a fair player but could use a little more um, aggressive playing, and WizFriend who's an excellent player who likes to cut things a little close for the average pickup group.

WizFriend tells you "Wish me luck, I'm about to join a group with PallyFriend's guildies in HoH"
                            Me: "Who's tanking?"
                            WizFriend: "PallyFriend"
Me: "Oh boy, good luck! Wait, a basement camp? Doesn't that usually take them a raid?"
WizFriend "Haha, yeah. I'm gonna die aren't I?"
Me: "Why do you think I'm suddenly very busy with my MTPs?"

Time passes, group gets opening and I finish MTPs
WizFriend tells you "Join us! No one here knows how to hold aggro"
Me on channel "Do you want the druid or pally?"
PallyFriend on channel "Bring whichever you want"
Me on channel "Well you already have a tank and the druid does better DPS, and you get Bot9"
WizFriend1 tells you "Bring paladin! You know PallyFriend can't hold aggro off of me"
Me to friend "Oh god, he's only using Quellious/FoA again for aggro isn't he?"
WizFriend tells you "dunno, but he can't hold aggro worth ****"
Me on channel "I'll bring the paladin and leave druid outside of group for buffs and nukes"
Me to friend "I know he has higher AC and more AAs than me, but I'm taking tanking duties no matter what. This is absurd ping ponging"
WizFriend "Teach him how to split these too while you're at it, they've been total chickens since the monk left and aren't pulling the second room at all"

It's a little embarrassing to have to take over tanking duties in a group made mostly of people in a guild that raids PoP gods, from one of their officers, because he simply can't hold aggro.

One of the two worst conversation paths I tend to hear from friends start with "Wish me luck.." read: They'll need both a rez and major sedatives in a few minutes after this group gets them killed through gross incompetence, and I'll end up getting drafted for the CR and other cleanup
and "Wanna join a certain_overly_casual_guild_name_here group with us?" read: the cleric is smoking weed, the chanter is having a nervous breakdown and doesn't believe in slowing, the DPS classes think they're tanks, and we'll have lots of fun explaining how taunt works to the warrior.

"Hey mind PLing my twink a bit?" used to be up there until I made it clear that no, we are not a PLing service for your flavor of the month. When it's your 8th new twink in this month alone it's gone past funny.
