It seems sometimes like the first thing a lot of people do is ask if there's [insert buff here] on entering PoK. Personally I wait for a minute or so, that's usually enough for the buff store spam to make it clear what's up and what's not. After that I feel free to start my 'wah wah, take my plat' spiel.
Hmm, I am sometimes wielding a HUGE sword in my offhand, but I don't wear chain, in fact, I have a haze panther tunic which is a distinct dark blue color, but then again, with the dyes, I guess anything is possible now.

Oh dear, I forgot that hotkey.

wasn't enough I was keeping your underlevelled behind healed and exped, nooo, you want *avatar* too. Sorry, I blew all that mana healing you

I was pretty impressed, Tink stepped up and tanked a sebelite juggernaut at level 51. As an enchanter.

Tell Itzy to level, Fero is more raw ATK than avatar (but they stack).

Maybe I should be "Chantatanka Extraordinare"... With my leet 2.7k temped HP and 573-with-Shadow AC. Oh, and just over 800atk with Avatar and maxxed 2hb. I think I was tanking the juggernaut with a 2hb... hadn't I maxxed the Piercing by then?
And it wasn't entirely my fault... I thought it was the one Kiz was tanking, so I nuked him a lot... And then he tried to be my friend and I couldn't turn him away. But yeah, there were some well timed heals in there... many places I almost died.

And you are so not allowed to call me 'underleveled'. You know I'm always up for xping.

... er... did I hijack again... um... back to the regularly schedualed, um, buff-hog griping....

Darn people who think i'm going to run to them for their c1.

It's not like I'm using, it's just that my class has developed this massive ATK deficiency.

Actually that was the one that was under the world on the shaman's PC and you had to slow.

Just because you don't like it doesn't make you underlevelled. I mean, about halfway through myconids you pointed out that you couldn't mezz any more. Though you did get some clutch mezzes on the way there.

Well, I'm not quite there, but Dunthor is 60 (13AA) and never bought a buff.

The only char of mine that's bought any buffs is my enchanter (currently lvl 19), who (pre-fix) bought two KEIs to help with enchanting (one for a big magic clay run, the other for a thicken mana run).

I occasionally will ask someone I don't know for a buff in PoK, but only if:

                    1. I have waited a few minutes to see if anyone is selling
                    2. Others are /oocing for the buff and noone is responding
                    3. I can physically locate a person of the right class/level and am standing in front of them

I usually tip 50p and provide SD/SV/SoW/Paragon in exchange for KEI or Virtue(peridot too)

Yes, uphill both ways, in the snow. =)

I had a now infamous encounter where a level 31 cleric berated me for several minutes for not being kind enough to port him somewhere. Considering I was an un-anon, level 63 cleric wearing purple platemail in the same zone as he (he was standing right in front of me!) I thought "Are you stupid?" was a perfectly reasonable question...

Hehe, I've been looking forward to IC for a while now, but to avoid mobs, it never even occured that it might have other, more frustration evasion applications.

I've never really had any oddball buff requests on my ranger, but my gnome wizzy has had a couple:
Ported a 40ish mage to Stonebrunt a few weeks back, and upon arriving in zone, she promptly asked me if I could SoW her for her run. Now, granted, I did port her there, so there is a 50/50 chance that I'm a class that can cast SoW; however, I don't know about anyone else, but I for one have never seen a druid with an imp following them around, or a gnome that can cast SoW.
This one had me really boggled: Back when Sorlea was 35 or 36, I was just finishing a baking run, when a 60 druid runs up to me, hails me, and asks for KEI. I can accept the fact that hey, she saw a gnomish caster, 1 in 4 shot of being a chanty, the flapping imp? OK, maybe I illusioned my pet. But the fact that I'm a green con to said druid?

The general lack of /who & /whotarget staggers me.

                              wow... like... cool and stuff.

Youll love innate camo. Get it early... maybe even earlier then Archery Mastery 3. I love being able to stand next to a kos mob, fire an arrow at something else and hit IC and the mob never notices I was there. Kinda like the early appearances of Tyler in Fight Club. *blip*

I can just sense the totally befuddled look on their blank pixelated faces. Its priceless how they just stand there and look.... well... as dumb as a bag of hammers.

I dont really mind giving buffs when asked properly, but it's the innappropriate ones who ruin it for others. And the people who think Shaman buffs aren't anything they should consider paying for then don't ask. I have level 12's donating 50pp for a HoS when higher levels stiff me on a full set of raid buffs including Avatar.

To try to curb this I thought I would use my Brewing trophy and see if I stopped getting asked. I wear a Vindi's BP so I look pretty much like a Barbarian BST. For a few days this worked, I could see the people coming up to me and staring at me. You know how you use to do when you were lower levels, judging a character by their clothes and not the ./who command. I see many people looking me over and then deciding I don't want no stupid BST buffs. Then one day it happened . . . . Soandso tells you, 'SD please, I'm in a hurry to a raid'

                                1. I wasn't ANON so he could have found out

                                2. Why would SD make any difference in a raid buff situation? Nice to have but not detrimental.

                                ------------

Grizzled I may have become, but when they demand and don't ask for buffs I reply, 'Sorry I left my charity in my other kilt, check back tommorrow I might actually buy FA too.' --I actually did buy it (
