Failed final combine on shawl7

You know it sucks when you fail a 162 trivial combine when your skill is 190.

Now I have to start all over on Shawl7.. fek I hate that quest sooo much.

I haven't started the shawl quite yet, still trying to get over my fear of failing to do it!

I failed a pottery combine, a JC combine, a fletching combine, the final tailoring combine, a brewing combine. . ..

Darn trivial 5% failures anyway. Only the tailoring one was not trivial (I was 159 at the time). Took me awhile, but I finally got it. And the 8th shawl now is done also.

OUCH. I had a miniature nightmare on the 7th shawl myself.
Finally obtained the Royal Kromriff blood and was all set to go.
All tradeskills well over minimum recommended EXCEPT tailoring, which was at 158 plus I had a Geerlok, so I was going for it anyway.

While switching out collapsed bags (oh so handy!), I deleted one bag and called up the next (Jewelcraft one). I inadvertently DELETED the engraved velium rune (verbiage may be slightly off there) only 2 steps from the final combine. AAAAAAAAAAAAArrrrrrggggghhhh. The rune was in the collapsed bag I deleted. ops:

I sent an immediate petition, including a /report that showed me linking the item created right BEFORE the rune step to a friend as proof I'd gotten at least that far.

Took about 3-4 hours for a Guide response that he couldn't help, but would bump the petition up and post on the GM boards about it.

Two days later the deleted rune was returned.
Five minutes after that, I was wearing the 7th shawl.

It did take me 3 tries I think on the 6th shawl spool combine btw. Luckily I had made extras during that brief period the spool shortcut was available. I was trembling on that last spool attempt.

Hope you keep at it, I like my 7th shawl. If you are on E. Marr, I might be able to help you some.

ok.. here is a nightmare

I was one of the first on my server with the 7th/8th shawl.. let me tell you bout Horror.

6th shawl. Tailoring level. 158 when I started 210 when I finally got 6th shawl..

Total combines 11.. thats right 10 FAILS.!!

now that in its self isnt to bad but think of it this way.. When I was doing the frist 3 attempts the spiders hadnt been revamped yet. They were still green, Hitting like mack trucks.. oh and only drop'd 1 silk every 20-30 kills. (rember you needed 75)

so I figured the nightmare was over.. WRONG.!!

7th shawl. 4 fails.. tailoring 221-250.. thats right I was a GM tailor when I finally succeded.

So i figured whew.. the nightmare was over.. WRONG!!

Do the 8th shawl. on the last mob.. some dewb agros Lodizila on us. (dont ask. was a mess) well.. in the process the general gets Killed. /sigh weeee.. i get to REDO 8th shawl again.

Finally got my 8th shawl. thank god.. but until you can top that nighmare just remeber you got it easy.

7th shawl was the only one I had trouble with. I failed the final combine on it 3 times. Finally made 7th shawl on the 4th combine. Figured it was my time to fail. I did not fail on any of the other 6 shawls at all, not even the little mini combines you had to do. 7th was the most costly though. I had to by the blood in the bazaar 4 times. So I spent 7k on just blood. I have all the stuff for the 8th but have not made the armor yet.

my shaman has failed 2 times now on the 5th shawl, tailoring 158 too...i hate glowing wurms.
