  • spell gems

This has been frustrating me for months, with the new LoY expansion they put in an ability to save a set of spells, or right click an empty spell slot and be able to scroll through a list of spells that are in your book.

My problem is that when I right click the empty spell gem slot nothign happens. I have to go back to the old way of opening the book and finding the spell.

Can anyone help me out? Very frustrating =)

    Monks don't get spells.
Reroll as a druid, problem solved. :-)

In all seriousness, try pressing and then releasing Alt.
Sometimes, when ALT sticks for me, I can't right click on anything.

I have similar problems to Lilosh's Alt key. I've developed a habit, whenever I notice something wonky with my controls, of quickly pressing each control button and releasing it before I do the next -- it doesn't work if you click button two while button one is still held down.

      The six control keys are:

      Left control
      Left Shift
      Left Alt
      Right Control
      Right Shift
      Right Alt

Once I've cleared those, 90% of my control issues go away.

I'll have to give that a shot!

Once in a while, my keyboard, and oddly enough my right mouse click go away. Can still left mouse klick, so can camp and log back in to fix, but will try those control keys and see if that unlocks it.

Also, there's an option in your options window (of all places) that says something like "Allow context menus". Make sure that hasn't gotten unset somehow.

I've been doing what KyrosKrane posted above for years. Its odd, but it helps with a lot of otherwise puzzling behavior.

I had the same issue with my shaman's spell list / save set thing. After I saved a couple sets the option to save, load delete...anything was not even there..right click and nada. I also even petitioned about it but all they said I could do was delete my UI files and repatch. Which I did, and it worked....but I am going to try this out and see if it helps. I hate redoing my hotkeys etc. That is a pain.
And then there's that bug that all of a sudden you can't cast, click on anything etc etc. That was fun while fighting a named...for sure....wasn't laughing at the time tho heh.

Any keyboard screwiness and I Alt-Esc into Windows, jab my shift key 5-10 times and go back into game.

When shift gets 'stuck' on my keyboard it really ruins my day.

Thank you all very much for the help. I tried inyidd's solution and turned on my "Allow Context Menus". That was the problem..I feel dumb, thanks again

Now that you mention this, I recall that I did it once.

I felt stupid too. Welcome to the club. Now we must never speak of this again.

I've always had to /camp or /quit out when this happens. However, a friend told me of a way he's managed to "fix" this. You need to a) cast a spell off an item, or b) proc something.

Now, since you can't click on much of anything, it means that a) must be hotkeyed (epic, gear with buffs, etc., etc.) or b) you have to have something proccing equipped and be able to get in a fight that won't immediately kill you.

I haven't tried it yet, personally, and I don't know if AA abilities will also do the trick (cannibalize, dire charm, etc., etc.), but it's worth a try when this highly annoying "can't cast" bug gets you in trouble.

As a bard, I've been able to fix it by typing /stopsong, so I wonder whether /duck'ing might work for casting classes.
