Goodie! I guess having a game that's weighted already toward male players wasn't enough. This ought to chase those pesky Real Girls™ out of the game a little faster.

So, here's my suggestion-- I DEMAND GIRLY STATS! No, not the 36-24-36 kind. I want a special button, I want "Cleavage taunt," I want "hip wiggle bash," I want SOMETHING to make up for the girly assets of my and every other fem character's being used to peddle this game to the 15 year old boys.

Or I just want 5pp for every time I've been asked to "lay on my hands" from someone under the age of 18.

Prolly stole the idea from us on FV. We did a women of FV calander awhile back to raise money to pay for the board. It featured some of the more well known female characters on the FV server.

They should have been more honest and replaced

"Babes"

with

"Breasts."

Ahahah, those kinds of things always crack me up. Its weird how that is just a part of our society. Imagine the same thing for males, where you had some guys in armor with clearly uplifted and flattered male "stuff" in the front.
Then imagine SOE selling them as a "Guys of Norrath" calender.

Its odd that one is accepted and one is not. Kind of reminds me of a series of calenders with pictures of guys named "up front."

There's nothing wrong with it. Despite some of our gripes SOE is not stupid. They're playing to the masses. They know who makes up the vast majority of their installed player base. It's good business. Regardless of how tasteless one may think it is, it is smart marketing. Sure they may anger, annoy, or alienate some (certainly not all, many don't care) of the minority, but that trade-off is certainly worth it should the marketing campaign be sucessful.

Besides. The art contained therein probably isn't any different than most paper-back fantasy fiction novel cover-art you'll find on the shelves of Books-a-Million or Borders. They know who the majority of their target audience is. It's no reason to get all up in arms.

SoE has been adding alot of the functionality of fan sites (like a pseudo-magelo) to their website for awhile now, it's not surprising that they'd copy an idea that's been done several times ("Playwiz" comes to mind) already by fans.
