I sent in a comment about the servers being LOCKED, but showing up as UP on the server stats website. Here is the reply I received from SOE:

    Hello,
Thank you for contacting the Sony Online Entertainment
    Customer Service
    department.

We apologize for any inconvenience you may have encountered as a result of your issue. The problem appears to have been temporary and should be corrected at this time. If you continue to experience problems, please email us back.
Well, the problem isn't temporary, it's been going on for months.

Don't forget to order your copy of Lords of EverQuest. SOE's first RTS game based off the popular MMORPG EverQuest! Order now, register LOE onyour existing EverQuest account and you will receive a free 30 days on your EverQuest account, along with a invitation to the EQ2 Beta.
Aaaargh! As if an unfixed bug would encourage me to order any more of their products.

Didn't you know that LoE fixes all bugs in EQ?

In addition, it cures cancer, feeds your family, irons your clothes, does your dishes, walks your dog, performs peace talks in the Middle East, laughs at all your unfunny jokes, programs your VCR, eats your vegetables, stops aging, warns you of tornadoes, blocks astroids from colliding into the earth, picks winning lotto numbers, deletes everything that you don't need on your computer (everything but EQ games), causes rainbows to occur, reanimates the dead, repulses bees, mows your lawn, causes weightloss, makes your bed and much, much more.*

So, why haven't you bought it yet!?

*LoE does not do windows. Please consult a doctor if ingested. Product is not associated with Super Happy Fun Ball.

I still haven't gotten them to understand what the problem is - that the website server status page lists the servers as UP when they are in fact LOCKED. They're being fairly dense about it. They sent me a nice explanation of why servers are locked (for internal testing peuposes, to make sure everything is A-OK) but I haven't gotten them to understand that not making this clear on the website is a bad thing, and is only going to lead to premature flodding of the login servers.

Still getting ads in every email.

The "servers are LOCKED but we'll tell you they're UP" bit has been frustrating for quite a while. Its always the debate - do you sit there and flood away with login requests, thinking that maybe the server actually is up and you're just either having connection issues or the login is congested, or do you surmise that the servers really are down and go away for a while ...

            LOL!!!!!

Do not taunt LoE; if LoE begins to smoke run away and seek shelter immediatly, we are aware of this and it is working as intended.
