  • oh, the shame

Recently, I acquired access to a druid (my ex-wife asked me to AA her druid, even though she's not currently playing). Now this druid is fairly well geared.

So, I've played the druid some, healing in groups, porting, aggro kiting in HoH, etc. etc.

    Then...

    Someone suggested it...

    I couldn't resist....

    I started quadding.

    Sigh.

quadding is fun. wizard here but still. nothing else can make you feel so ubah. turn around and out of the extended camera veiw when you are close to finishing one. all 4 angry mobs walking crippled toward you as you start chanting and stare them down. BOOM! they fall right at your feet for you to loot. hehe burn

course it is my main exp grind cause groups are hard to get. one of the tween levels. group lower and above but not at the moment. load up your biggest pbae spell and go somewhere like blackburrow. have a newbie train to entrance and zone. stand at entrance and start casting softly in their mits. BOOM! you are a train killer.

Yea, I think I fell to the dark side. Nothing like getting my enchanter a level while she sits there and slaps down boon of the clear mind every however often it fades.

At least you'd have a clue on how to play a druid

Weird is good. Glad things are back to normal. Check PM.

There's nothing wrong with quadding. A druid who doesn't quad is like a necro who doesn't dot...it's just what you do.

As long as you don't hog mobs or train people, go crazy. But I do recommend not just doing quadding because it gets REALLY BORING.

Also, you can try duo-quadding higher level mobs, which is sorta fun and breaks the monotony; while it's easier with a wizard (because they can concussion), it can be done with another druid.

I haven't been to successful at quadding yet, but I do have the 'rot' strategy down pretty well with my 20 druid.

Quadding as a druid doesn't really become worthwhile until level 34, and even then only if you have a decent mana pool (for the level). I had 160ish wis at the time, and it wasn't until I hit level 37 that I could barely quad in the overthere.

And just to pass on my wisdom to the druids who are reading this thread, here is the path I took once I could quad (sorry if this is a slight hijack):

34-39 : Quad Cougars in Iceclad. It's awesome, once you get the hang of it. Just DO NOT use Wolf-form. Take my advice on that.

39-46 : Quad Spectres, in Oasis. Pull to the beach south of the tower, control your pulls and quads, and DO NOT be that druid that loses control and trains the specs all over the zone, or to the docks.

46-49 : I went to Tim. Deep, and root-rotted Spirocs. 48 will be a looong level, but it's worth it. I promise.

49-51 : Quad Spirocs. It's easy, fun, and rewarding.

51-53 or so : Root rot trolls at the Shrine/Succor Point in nadox. Be careful, but it's easy. After a slight nerf of the ZEM in the LoY zones, this is still doable, but less amazing.

53-58 is a no man's land. The hardest 5 levels of a druid's life. Try charm kiting if you can. Try making groups at PoS or PoV if you have a good guild and are 55+. Do whatever it takes to hit 58. Again, trust me on this.

58 is a god level. We become viable healers, get a new regen spell, and a bunch of fun stuff. Go heal PoV groups, or any other place you darn well please. From here on out, life is good.

I'm 59 and never done a quad. I just never learned how to. Never charmed an animal either. I soloed about 5 lvls between 20 and 59.

So being a complete failure as a druid (poking some fun at myself here, no one freak out) I rolled another druid with intent of learning all that stuff I never did. And I'm looking forward to it cause now I can destroy all those factions that I covet with Mnem. Needless to say I'm frequenting the druid boards looking for tips and suggestions cause I have the feeling I'm going to be dying a lot more than I'm used to.

                              On to adventure!
