  • Leveling a druid

    Hi,
My main character is a 55 enchanter, HE, with tailoring 188, smithing 200, jewelcraft 250 and all others skill at 180.
I'm actually levelling a druid in the goal to make him a forager for my tailoring & smithing, mainly because no one on my server (french one Sebilis) is selling foraging supplies at reasonnable prices ( morning dew at 200pp, Lichenclover at 80, and sylvan berries at 300pp ouch !!)
My question is as follow : where should I hunt while levelling my druid to maximize my chances of having a good stock of foraged and droped supplies to use.
For the tailoing part, I've a very nice stock of pages, words, for the robes, my problem is to fing forage supplies so I think that I must forage & lvl in FV et LF/GF.
GF lvl 1 to 9 seems to be ok, I can also keep spider & spiderling silks the same time.
Then I'm planning to move to LF, camping orcs, there I should stock morning dews for smithing, sylvan berries for tailoring & also some spider silks. I can stay there until lvl 25 moving from camps to camps.
I will need swirling mist for the brewing part of cultural smithing, and I should move toThe Twilight Sea killing Air Elemental. I can make this until 35 I guess.
Then I want to go to FV for Lichenclover, so I will kill Dolvags there and keep my finger ready to press the /forage button
Are there any other things I should make, kill ? Other paths I forgot ?
I'd appreciate your help & ideas for this quite different levelling guide : how to be a good supplier for an HE, enchanter who wants to increase his skills in smithing & tailoring ?

i would suggest paludal from 15 to 20-3 just because it is so fast anyway. you prolly wont max your skills so go back to lfay and sit in a corner practicing skills for a bit and foraging.

ldon might not be bad for a bit for smithing tempers. i am leveling my necro in shar vhal myself. chance at hq rockhopper hide for backpacks and get lower quality hide and shadeling silk too. you are farther than me though. get some gem forages in ldon for sure though. geodes and polished quartz make dang nice jewelry. good luck.

Just a couple of clarifications for you:

Originally posted by euridice I will need swirling mist for the brewing part of cultural smithing, and I should move toThe Twilight Sea killing Air Elemental. I can make this until 35 I guess.
Swirling Mist drops from the water elementals not the air.

Then I want to go to FV for Lichenclover, so I will kill Dolvags there and keep my finger ready to press the /forage button
You will get more Lichenclover just foraging in Field of Bone than in FV foraging and killing combined.

      On to advice...
-Make the druid a Wood Elf so you can imbue emeralds.
-Get the druid up to at least 46 so when your done with smithing/tailoring you can raise you baking skill by foraging Justice Fruit in PoJ
-Once robes trival try doing Tigeraptor armor. Your druid can lvl up on Tigeraptors and get hides. Then park him in Skyshrine to forage drake eggs (you can get exp in there too if you don't care about your CoV faction). Keep the other kinds of eggs for your JFP combines.
-If cash is an issue you might wanna look at the LDoN recipes or Shadowscream. Skilling up on HE cultural isn't cheap.

thank for the tip on Paludal.
on LDoN that's a good idea but I have 200 on smithing, LDoN tempers triv at 212 and and I have quite a few coldain velium temper & velium to skill on up to 210.

          my mistake, thanks

You will get more Lichenclover just foraging in Field of Bone than in FV foraging and killing combined.
So I move from LF right now and kill Spiders and forage =>lichenclover & spider sliks for solstice as I'm a woody who will imbue his own emeralds

that's for the beginning which is clearer now for me, and thanks for the advice for the time when robes will be trivial...
needless to say I already hate the time when I'd have to make 3AA again to raise my tailoring above 200

as an enchanter main you have such a leg up on me already. i'm a wizard at heart. dont kill the twilight elementals with your druid. its a requested port spot and i dont think druids get tl spells. the elementals always aggro and swarm you. lv 65 druid in my guild with epic almost died one time cause there are just so dang many on the island at port in.
higher though and she can ae hollowshade and you just loot up. is she on the same account? might offer pling to a buds alt for the same to her. at lv 34 wizards and druids can quad. i did it to farm greyhopper hide. if same account it wouldn't be as easy but wizards can take wyvern quads in cs with kei at 45. then just fish while medding. arctic wyvern. tigeraptor is another option but worshipping sol ro i am aggro to all pog mobs and some are on that faction in wl. 4 mobs are great. 5 mobs are horrid. so much less efficient doing singles. good luck.

lv 44 wizard now so will try the wyverns next level. normally wizard quading and druid quadding aren't all that different in efficiency.

at lv 34 wizards and druids can quad. i did it to farm greyhopper hide
where plz ?? Scarlet or DSP caves
thanks for the tip on elementals
This leveling guide begins to take a nice form !!!!

marus seru. greyhoppers only have greyhoopper or lq hopper hide. grouped there at 25-30 some. no really good hide for you anymore. on the other hand the dsp caves i still have problems quadding. the runway takes me out to far and wolves aggro. i think i could at least single them at my level and should be able to quad with c1-3 and care. the wolves eat me so your druid should have it much easier. can dire charm a wolf and single them too i imagine. given the price padding sells for and that it stacks could prolly arange some trades for other stuff. also warslik woods have brutes that can drop hq hide. find a halfling and trade hehe.

prety sure i'm doing whatever cultural i can and maybe acrylia and arctic for myself. acrylia makes arrows for fletching and velium for the bits in smithing too though and higher smithing. little conflict of interest there but think i can farm velium easier in a few levels. supernova hould do wonders. 1200 pt pbae for wizards at lv 49. has a good range on it too.

greyhoppers i did at 34. would suggest 41 and c2 at least for dsp hoppers. also they are fast but if you pull with snare you can run one out a bit and come back and snare another then run them out a bit and snare and get another. wizard snare is ae spell so we do full speed gathering. at 44 without the wolves i bet i could quad them but pulled a train of like 12+ wolves and shrooms when i tried last time so gave up hehe.

                      My two tips are:

                      1. Make sure you are ALWAYS in wolf form in Lesser Fay. Brownies don't like woodies, but they are okay with puppies. (add.: NEVER be in wolf form in FV or in DL, though. All the villagers in FV and Gorenaire hate wolves.)

                      2. If you have more questions and/or get stuck being a druid, please feel free to drop www.thedruidsgrove.org and ask questions in the Help! forum. =)
