  • Level capped Tradeskills

I recently rolled up a rogue on Tarew Marr to join the people there since I have many friends there. I hit 20 and was excited to be making poisons. So of course I read up on them, both here and at the safehouse, and I found something very disturbing.

Up until level 51 the skill Make Poison is capped at 200, so at 24, i can max it at 200, but after 51 I can get to the true cap of 250.

This is annoying! Its not like I'm going to be making group altering game shatter poisons, as most everyone knows, poisons are pretty much a joke. The same thing goes for Alchemy, last I checked(and if Im wrong, someone tell me!), Alchemy was level capped at a more restrictive cap. I think it was level*5+5. While Alchemy has gotten more useful, its still not the best of all tradeskills. So why is it a level 1 can go and max smithing and make EP stuff, but I cant make some lousy poisons?!

True tradeskills are the 7 skills that are not level capped, that everyone can do... baking, brewing, fletching, jewelry, pottery, smithing, and tailoring.

Racial and class skills.. alchemy, poison making, research, and tinkering are all level limited. Not everyone can do them.

Why? Because 5 years ago the game designers said so. So it was said; so it has been.

Anyway, it'd be kinda pointless for a level 20 to make planar poisons, as the actuall effects are limited on your level. Some poisons are actually a very nice addition to your arsenal, not all are useless.
