Greetings, just wanted to share this... I saw an open request for a GM Pottery combine in a chat channel I participate, the difficult Totem of Rathe. I volunteered my services to this peer, pleased to assist a 'friend' and eager to attempt my first PoP Item. I am a level 52 Wizard who currently has intel maxed (255), had Fo7 and a couple other buffs (ya, it seems that only ts lvl and triv matter in successes, but hey- superstition sometimes works, hehe). I had my trophy going and soon had all materials for the combine and was standing at the wheel getting ready to do the 'click' thing. I paused, then clicked- Failure! Ouch. I wasnt sure what to say, I felt terrible. Luckily, he broke the silence with a sigh and oh well- Oh well! The materials involved averaged almost 30k! "Oh well," he said, "tis part of the game. Thanks for trying and dont give it a moments thought." Dont give it a moments thought- well, I do and did. Here are those thoughts- I have always been hesitant to try combines for others because of feelings of personal obligation in the case of failure, in this case, there was no way I could compensate for the loss (and he didnt expect it, as no one should if the skills and stats are there, it is just the rng, but i have had that happen in other ts's), so I felt really terrible. I also considered estabishing a personal rule to only do combines for guildees (once guilded) and self, but, after reading this peer's responses to me and his assurances to "not give it a moments thought," I decided to finally listen to him and say thanks! Thanks for understanding that is 'the game' and realizing it is these failures that make the successes so great... and players like you!
Thanks!
