i don't think I am modifying the Software [i.e. EQ] to change game play. i don't think I am modifying the Software at all when I have a command like "/autoinventory" programmed to a specific button.

I don't even know how to modify the Software.

I use the end of a stapler to hold down the CTRL key, it works wonderfully.

Another tip for those who might not be aware of this: you don't need to remove your CTRL key holder when moving stacks. Since SHIFT overrides CTRL (when you have both down, it acts as a SHIFT-click), you can simply press SHIFT when you need to move stacks, even with your CTRL key holder in place. This saves time because you don't need to keep removing your CTRL key holder any time you want to pick up a full stack.

Ah - Rule 9 is frequently quoted and does indeed make most utilities against the rules. The thing is the little loophole.

          9. You may not use any third party software to modify the Software to change Game play.

Xylobot is not modifying anything. It also doesn't touch the network packets which is where most other programs get nailed. If those few words were ommited, then yes, Xylo would be against policy.

          Arista -
I never realized that the SHIFT had higher precedence than CTRL. I'll have to try that sometime. I've been yanking my pen cap anytime I had to use SHIFT. That would indeed save even more time.

Slippy, why don't you send a nice email to SOE asking if you can use your macro program and see if they think it's cool.

And Arista, thanks for the tip, I didn't know about the shift thing either.

It doesn't modify current code in the files in the Everquest Folder, nor the packets hitting their servers, think of it more like a tool for a handicapped person to play EQ.

The only reason they're handicapped is EQ in the first place, but still
