Last night I got invited to a LDoN group as the main healer. I accepted. Met the group and head to N Ro to get the adventure. Wound up getting a collection adventure. So, we head to Oasis and begin. Things are going good, single or double pulls, the enchanter was mezzing, I healed, and things were going smoothly. Then, we got a slightly bad pull, 4 mobs. The MT was doing ok, but needing some healing. The chanter was having some problems with resists on the mezzes, which we found out about after I bit it keeping the MT alive. Oh well. Run back, loot corpse move on. Things are going well again. Tripple pull, chanter drew agro so fast was dead before my heal was halfway through. Ok, 2 deaths, not feeling so good. We finished off the 3 mobs, medded a little bit, and advanced a room. Chanter made it back. We continued, doing ok, keeping a good pace and reasonable pulls. Got into another bad spot, 3 mob pull, healing the MT when the chanters health goes down a little over half way. Start casting heal, chanter falls to a neg 1 health, MT gets the agro back, chanter lieing there bleeding to death. Heal finishes, and up pops the chanter at almost half health, hit him again with a heal. Almost full health. We finish off the mobs. Everybody was impressed. I was speechless. I have never gotten that lucky before, and the chanter was extremely thankful. We did manage to finish the adventure with no more deaths, then proceeded to clean the rest of the dungeon. Only 3 mobs were left when we got kicked out. I was feeling pretty good about the night after that.

Wow, Gratz!
I sure wish people would be appreciative of my skills.
At the Sand Giant camp, in PoS, I helped the warrior pull.
From a camp of 8-9 giants (In a tent and around a campfire, pretty tightly packed) , I helped him single pull ALL of them.
I was in charge of DS.
And nuking for a solid 1100-1200 (I love mage bracers) throughout.
Did anyone compliment me? Nope.
All I wanted was recognition of the freaking talent of pacifying NINE mobs at once.
Or something.
I don't get no respect. [/dangerfield]

57 Druid of Tunare - Povar
47 Druid of Tunare - Lockjaw
Hark! Who is that, prowling along the fields! It is Draggar De'VIr, hands clutching two hardened pitas! He cries gutterally: "In the name of Thor the Mighty, I hereby void your warranty, and send you back to God!!!"

Well, not really, but "armor-wetting horror" isn't very dignified.
You are the druid. I am in awe.

OMG. Nice job healing there Rewde... could use more druids like you. Lucky ones.
Lilosh I have a new appreciation for being a puller.
Wizard.
Cleric.
Enchanter.
Enchanter.
Beastlord.
Paladin.
Guess which of these people gets to be the puller for a Bastion of Thunder East wing group?
ding ding ding !!! YES that would be ... the second enchanter...
me
Itek: Um, guys, yes I have pacification... but um... 1) I've never been to this camp before, 2) I haven't pulled in like 45 levels, and 3) this reeks of "bad idea" ...
Wizard: You will be fine. Tash to pull, cause if you use a mini-nuke which would be less agro they will summon you.
Itek: Um.... oooook.
Wizard: Oh, and by the way... the Paladin used to main tank for "third best guild on server, time qualified" so we will need constant pulls. Once we engage a mob, go pull the next one. You just need to mezz the add when it arrives.
(lemme get this straight... I pacify all the mobs in an area, then pull one here, then immediately go grab another, with the PLAN of mezzing it while it's agro on me ALREADY, keep it mezzed until the first one dies, watch the tank break mezz, and "lather rinse repeat" ?? *trembles in mild terror*)
Itek: Um... oook. Can I get SoW please?
Itek: *wanders away searching for mobs*
Itek: *begins pulling singles*
12 mobs die, including named #1 placeholder.
Itek: Hmm... 3 mobs in named #2 placeholder room.
Itek: *paci* ... *paci* ... *targets PH-2* *paci*
Itek: inc 2, resist
*Itek has been slain.*
Time passes.
*Ubah-Euro-Guild runs by*
Wizard: /ooc UEG what is your target? Agnarr?
UEG: Towers.
Wizard: /guildmotd Towers raid tonight canceled UEG got them 5 hours before we could.
Wizard: Hey, pull Itek.
Itek: *Paci* *Paci* *begins to target last mob*
UEG-idiot-03: *goes visible 3 ft from teleporter*
UEG-idiot-03: *runs RIGHT UNDER the second PACI, into the last unpaci mob turns and swings by Itek, and curves around to hit teleporter*
Itek: inc 2
*Itek has been rooted*
*Itek has had SoW debuffed*
*Itek has had HoV debuffed*
*Itek has been slain*
*Cleric has been slain*
*Enchanter 1 has been slain*
Time passes.
Wizard: Ok, go pull Itek.
Itek: Named up. Two mobs in way. Pulling.
Itek: Roamer in room with named now. One more to named.
Itek: *paci roamer* *paci named*
Itek: Inc roamer
Itek: *turns to make sure mob is coming* (remember, constant pulls, group still fighting one mob)
*Itek AFK change of undies, as TWO are inc, not including named*
Itek: inc 2, wth
*Itek has been slain*
*Enc 1 has been slain*
*Wizard evacs*
There were 2 mobs "of the same name" basicly standing inside each other. Like the old bug where 2 fire beetles or 2 decaying skeletons would spawn in the same place at the same time. Or I have the worst luck and the last spawn point in the room respawned JUST as I pulled. Either way... *sigh*
Wet armor brigade? Bah my hands still haven't stopped shaking.
On the bright side I got 3 spectral parchments out of the deal.
Oh, and ding! 65. (and re-ding, and re-ding, .... and re-ding)In My (Not Always) Humble Opinion, except where I quote someone. If I don't know I say so.
I suck at this game, your mileage WILL vary. My path is probably NON-optimal.

The good thing about being an Enchanter is that when you do your job well, everyone notices.
There is no better feeling then when your group is overwhelmed and everyone calls out "Run!". Then they glance over their shoulder and see me dancing around in the middl of 7 mezzed mobs.
People still seem to be amazed at something that I consider a normal day. I won't complain though. I like the compliments!

There's a couple of factors working against people complementing game play Lilosh.
It all boils down to the "don't suck" threshold. That is, what is your minimum expectation for a competent player of a given class. For personal example, if I (or anyone else) am single pulling and I die, the cleric sucks. I don't care how many resists the slower had. If you can't keep me up, you suck (barring areas where it's easy to get 1 rounded by something - places I don't hunt).
In the same way, being able to single pull a known camp that can be harmonied in a common grind zone, as hairy as it might be for you, isn't commonly considered a great feat (in other words, any druid that can't do that sucks).
The converse applies. You might think something is the hottest thing since sliced bread (especially for a class you don't play) and find out that it's a common feat for that class. And have the aformentioned person in that class laugh at you for being so clueless about their class (OMG WTF n00b!). So it's always a weird experience to complement someone.
2 examples:
1 - As you may know, my enchanter is a PLed bot (like I can't barely cast rune PLed). I did a MM group, and figured out that the monk was pulling doubles, leaving them out of camp without attacking, expecting me to mezz one, then pulling the unmezzed one into camp (for the record, I thought that was **** slick, saved me the trouble of targetting the other mob). So I assisted the monk on multi pulls, mezzed, reassisted, tashed, slowed, then tashed and slowed the mezzed one. Even someone with my feeble enchanter skills could handle that. The monk thought I was a good enchanter and told me so. While I graciously accepted the complement, I promptly laughed in channel that someone would be silly enough to call me a good enchanter.
2 - (this is me being egotistical, you are warned) You may know that I have a few AAs on my SK. Most of them are defensive and lifetap AAs (as well as a decent AC and a passable HP pool). I can crit lifetaps, score exceptional heals, have a lifetap proc with increased base damage (and crits and exceptional heals for said proc). With KEI I regenerate a sick amount of mana, which I convert to health as fast as I get it. The cleric I was grouped with one fine day in Droga stopped a moment and asked "are all SKs this badass or are you just uber." I guess they thought needed to do a celestial for every 150 hitter we took down was a low amount of healing (although the rest of the group was pretty good DPS which helps make me look good). Aside from being a happy making moment for me, I could see how most clerics might just shrug and figure they never really noticed before and never say anything ('hm, guess these guys are more gimp than I thought' or 'hm, guess I should group with more SKs').

You and I clearly have different expectations, Kiztent.
1) For all but one person, it was our first time at the giant camp.
2) There were 8-10 mobs within a few steps of each other.
3) Giant Agro range is not to be underestimated.
4) Most conned yellow to me, and could tear me to shreads if I got too close before casting harmony.
5) Accurately counting the mobs, making sure non were hidden, and making sure that I kept track of when the first Harmony was due to expire was no small feat.
Now, I'm not asking for a Purple Freaking Heart, here.
But when I excel at a task, a simple "Nice pacifying, Noish" sure as heck wouldn't hurt.
I hate human nature. We are infinately quick to jump up someone's colon when they err, but when they do something good, it's just expected, and taken for granted.
I try to be different, though. I always compliment the groupmates I notice as being exceptionally competant.

I agree, Lilosh. I always try to compliment people in my group when things go well - particularly in a pick-up group (and even more so if I really like the people and would want to group with them again in the future).
Even in guild/alliance groups, I try not to pick on anyone if they make a mistake, and compliment people, even if things are going just the way I expected.
I know I feel really good being told that I am doing a good job, so I try to turn the tables and do the same to others regularly.
