ARGH!

So there I am in Shadowhaven, merrily baking away, trying to get to 226 via Halas meat pies (and already at 221), and I go LD in mid-combine. I get back in, open the oven, empty. Check my packs, and MY FREAKING PIE TIN IS GONE!

    GAHHHH!

But Xixsu WILL get a new one, and be culinary reptile supreme. Oh yes, she will. Oh yes.

    LOL /comforts the lizzie

I know what you mean, one time I had 3 ten-slot backpacks full of baked goodies to sell when my DSL went down for a couple of hours, didn't help that it was really late at night and all that time spent just went down the drain :? but anyways happy baking

I ran to the baking oven in Thurg to finish off my last few MTP combines and found a filleting knife in there. Looked around, nobody was around. Took it out, put it in a bag and did my combines. Later on I realised that I still had the knife on me. I ported back to Thurg and put the knife back in the over. I like to thinkt he aspiring baker realised his or her mistake and ran back there and retrieved it.

In you case in SH where the oven probably sees a fair bit of traffic, somebody probably took it.

No one took the tin... if they did, they'd have to be real, real quick. I was back on in less than 60 seconds, and I checked the oven, too.

Hey, I got a question, odd as it is. Was my post edited, or did I use the "<bleep>" word in the title? I ask because I could have sworn I used a relatively inoffensive word instead (anagram for carp), but I've been so out of it on Robotussin and NyQuil I could have put anything in there.

          I edited your post.

I changed one word, but left the essence ot the thing alone. We try to keep things pretty family-friendly here, and so I just used the same technique used on "The Osbornes" - I < bleeped > a word.

PS - Not that you might not hear the same word on TV or the radio, but I decided to err on the side of caution.

            Lothay,

No sweat at all. Like I said, I was pretty medded up. To be honest, were I fully rested (I'm pulling down maybe two hours of sleep at night thanks to Robocold here) *I* would have used the bleeping, it's my usual MO.

JUst wwanted to let you know that the change was justified and acceptable, IMO. =)

              Traska -

              Thanks.

I really hope your cold gives up soon. If you're this pleasant zonked on cold-cures and no sleep, I'll bet you're a real delight when all is well.

                  Nope.

No one took your tin. It was presumably sitting on your cursor after doing a combine, and things on your cursor seem to evaporate when you go LD. I lost a vial of mana that way because I went LD mid-cast. Suck.

                    Even worse

I had the ingredients for a complete 3 sheet Acrylia armor piece in the forge, and was reaching for the combine button when....LD

Log back on, and all gone. Nobody else anywhere near the forge. I did have to exit EQ fully, to desktop (ISP had dropped me), so it took a couple minutes. That one really hurt.

My advice get a spit. I've had LD while tailoring, with a tailoring kit, and everything is still there when I log back in.

                      Unfortunately with Halas Meat Pies....

You can't bake a Halas Meat Pie in a spit... requires at least 8 slots to make it. You have to use an oven.

I completely agree with the spirit of your post though. Whenever you can do something in a hand held container, it is so much safer. )

                        ::Cry::

Last night, I'm working on my first ever batch of Misty Thicket Picnics (side note: Skill went from 226 to 228, and had a 38% success rate, yay!), and I go LD Of course.

I get back, and my dairy spoon is now missing! GAH!

Luckily, there were extras sitting on the ore merchant in shadowhaven, or I'd have been been really cheesed off.
