Hehe, Jack Palance was obviously having a blast in this film...hell, they problably blew a fair chunk of the budget to get a 'named' actor to star in it. How can you go wrong with a film where you are a badass if you can quick-draw a throwing axe? Lol.

I think either 'Attack of the Killer Tomatoes' or 'Toxic Avenger' still hold the record for cheesiest move though.

They *only* way I think this could've potentially worked while requiring tradeskills would be to have a one-use 'combine container' for augmenting be tradeskilled and droppable. Thus a tradeskiller is required, but a Nodrop augment on a Nodrop item of a non-tradeskiller can still be combined.

Distribution would be problematic since the demand would be pretty insane, and even worse since you can't /baz containers as a distribution method.

As much as I'd like a better/another way to make money via a consumable tradeskill item, I think in this case it was a better decision to let it be doable by anyone, without a needed tradeskiller involvement.

Hmm like it is not bad enough if you don't have the time or money to tradeskill up to make nice stuff for yourself then you have to pay often very amounts to others for looted/created items. You want to be able to gouge others to use magic items they WON in a dungeon. Sorry no dice. First of all as was pointed out earlier these are magic items which bond themselves to an item brought into contact with them. IE no need for a skill check.

Secondly as these items are designed to be able to be installed in practically any item how are you going to be able to get around the no drop items? So only no drop items are not augmentable? Considering that many if not most powerful items in the game are no drop there would be little interest for those with such items to "waste" there time in these zones if they cannot make their items better.

If you want to yell at someone for not being able to make money tradeskilling yell at Sony for not having merchants pay extra for finished products. Frankly this one aspect of the game really annoys me and makes no sense. If you have to spend time/ money to gather components to make stuff and then have a chance to fail on these combines then merchants should offer money over and above basic costs. FP breastplate costs about 82pp or so to make not including farming hides and spiderling silks but you lose money even with a successful combine. And this is a good tradeoff compaired to some of the prices merchants pay for tradeskilled items. EQ needs to rethink this entirely. There really is nothing wrong with making money by making items and selling them to merchants!

Augments for LDoN brought a lot of possibility for tradeskills, so much so that I am extremely disappointed at the little that did get added to tradeskills in LDoN. They added a bunch of new ways to get to 250 for a few tradeskills, but nothing new for when you get there.

We've seen 6 expansions (including LoY) come and go now and we've never really seen tradeskills evolve at all with them. I just wish after 4 years they could get a little more innovative and creative with how tradeskills work.

This is how I would've done tradeskills in LDoN:

Each tradeskill gets to make new items which I'll simply call "frames." These items are basically low stat items with 3 tradeskill only augmentation slots. To make more sense, these items take "adornments" that are tradeskill made only

Both the frames and the adornments would require playing in the LDoN zones. Here is an example:

            Rujarkian Steel Breastplate:
            25ac 2str 5dex 3wis 20hp 20mana
            CLR WAR BRD SHD PAL
            Slot 1, Type 10:
            Slot 2, Type 10:
            Slot 3, Type 10:
            All/All

[b]Polished Fire Opal Glaze/b]: (jewelcraft, brewing)
            AUGMENTATION Type 10
            14ac 50hp
            Required level 60
            All/All

            Cursed Tattered Padding: (tailoring)
            AUGMENTATION Type 10
            5 ac 7int 20mana
            effect: Shroud of Hate
            Required level 60
            SHD WAR
            All/All

            Rujarkian Berserker Adornment:
            (pottery)
            AUGMENTATION Type 10
            7ac 15str 4dex 4agi 25hp
            +5% dodge
            All/All

            Rujarkian Steel Breastplate (augmented)
            51ac 17str 9dex 4agi 3wis 7int 95hp 40mana
            +5% dodge
            effect: Shroud of Hate
            Required level 60
            SHD, WAR
            All/All
            Another example:
            Rujarkian Steel Breastplate:
            25ac 2str 5dex 3wis 20hp 20mana
            CLR WAR BRD SHD PAL
            Slot 1, Type 10:
            Slot 2, Type 10:
            Slot 3, Type 10:
            All/All

            Blessed Wisdom Idol: (pottery)
            AUGMENTATION Type 10
            15ac 10wis 50mana
            CLR PAL
            All
            Required level 65

            Greater Chains of Resistance: (jewelcraft)
            AUGMENTATION Type 10
            4ac 9svF 9svP 9svM 9svC 9svD
            All/All

            Comforted Thought: (alchemy)
            AUGMENTATION Type 10
            10mana 3wis 3int
effect: Comforted Thought (required the alchemy potion Vial of Comforted Thought to use. Lowers the group's mana usage by 5% for 15mins)
            All/All

            Rujarkian Steel Breastplate (augmented):
            44ac 2str 5dex 16wis 20hp 80mana 9svf 9svP 9svD 9svC 9svM
            effect: Comforted Thought
            Required level 65
            CLR PAL
This would finally allow players to make customized gear.

As I said, the drops would all come from LDoN. The better adornements (that add effects and stuff) would require parts that came from the HARD adventures, and some components would be no drop and come from the interactive objects. Frequency of the components could be controlled so things don't come into the world as fast, but frequently enough that tradeskillers aren't trying to farm stuff at the last 30mins of the adventure.

This would also allow a whole slew of tradeskill items to be available since every tradeskill could be incoporated. Jewelcrafters could make rings, Potters idols, etc. and the augments could also make Alchemy, Baking and Brewing more useful.

Yeah, it's just a pipe dream, but it sure would be nice.

              Macroing

Then fix macroing or ban those using them. Yeah I knew someone was going to mention macroing but frankly I would rather a few people abuse it then punish all of us that wouldn't use it.
