  • Bard Fashions...

Is it just me, or is all bard gear getting, well, more and more colors that "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy" would choose? No offence, but I have a bard, and I'm getting a full suit of Veeshan smithed cultural done, but the color (on Eq Fashion at least) says purple (If anyone could link a site showing what it looks like it would be great) . I also have a Thunderous Drums of Karana, which looks like a pink globe with pink sparkles. I really, really don't want to look like Tinky-Winky holding a pink glitter pen. Then again, I'll be moving so fast that you really couldn't see me. I don't have LoY, so no dyes. Just my 2cp.

Edit: Well, the stats are awesome, so it makes up for it, but...

Yeah but if you have the ability to buy and wear Veeshan smithed cultural, I'd do it anyway just for the novelty of having some of the finest (tradeable) bard armor around.

      Friends doing it...

Lol, I'm getting my friend to do it in exchange for me getting him to 250 blacksmithing. And he's paying! I just tell him what to do. Cool guy.

Try beastlord elemental armor.. bright, glairing neon green... what kind of hunter (As beastlords are made out to be in lore) would wear something -that- horrendous?

I'm assuming it's because nothing that can see would ever suspect anything dangerous of wearing something that hideous. I could be wrong, of course.....

I was dyed BRIGHT red for a good 4 months, starting day 1 of LoY.

After someone made one to many Feminine Hygeine jokes, I got bored, and un-dyed myself.

Now, If Only I could find a dye job that I actually liked.

the funniest thing is still when people would get themselves 'chemically altered for the night' and get on EQ and buy dyes and dye themselves these HORRENDOUS combinations... and then have to auction a piece of their armor off the next day so they could buy MORE dye to undo what they didn't remember doing in the first place.

It's also cute when a guild tells all their MTs to be black tunic and pants, and bright green heads, hands, and feet. Easily findable during raids.

Maybe Pop armor was intentionally done with atrocious colors so people who didn't like it would be 'nudged' into buying Loy so they could fix it. In that case, I'm not sure if SOE is brilliant or cruelly evil. Or cruelly brilliant.

I got tired of the monochromatic or bichromatic look and went for blue that starts dark on my feet and gets gradually lighter up to my head where it's pale blue. I usually take my inspiration from the undyed shade of something I really like (in this case, my windessence boots) and then just darken and lighten to taste. I took it as a good sign when the helm I got after that dye job happened to be almost exactly the right shade (my helm at the time of dying had no graphic). It's been that way for a few months and I'm not tired of it yet...and I get some compliments now and then. And best of all, I don't look like everyone else

I found only one good use for the LoY dye system.

Dying myself neon green when I'm leading a raid helps a LOT because people actually know where I'm when I yell "FOLLOW ME!"

I seem to recall someone talking about a bard (I believe pre-dyes) with yellow hands and feet and red body.... look, it's the Flash!
