My uni got hit by the worm/virus/crap that's going around, and i'm about to pull some hair out (and possibly not my own, either).
Connectivity is a massive issue; I LD'ed twice while guild was fighting to Xana in poi. The entire time I was playing last school year, my connection meter, the numbers in the middle, rarely hit 3pct, and almost never 6pct. Now, 20 is an insanely good number; some of the time I'm at 35, mostly 45-65.
The point of the above is to illustrate that I cannot place the real problem in the question below.
When I run my EQ Patcher to start the game, it asks me if I want to DL any new LDON files. I've always chosen yes. It's never been a problem before.
NOW, when I try to DL files, the patcher starts to get guk.mp3.... and freezes.
I started it this morning before I went to class. 3 hours later, it wasn't done. NO PROGRESS had been made. Furthermore, I have to CTRL ALT DEL and chose to End Process on everquest.exe or whatever, else I can't even reopen the patcher.
Where does it sound like the problem is? The POUS connection? Or is something broken with my patcher somehow?
