Ok, I have hit the wall. My quest in life was to join the 1750 club. I am so close yet I have lost interest. Smithing is just killing me right now. I haven't had a skill up in 3 weeks and about 200 combines. I know I am in a hell level. In the past, I struggled through the hell levels and came out still looking forward to the next one. I just don't have the enthusiasm to continue. My new job takes a lot of time which cut in to my EQ time and that didn't help much either. Instead of playing almost everyday, I am lucky to get on twice a week including the weekends.

So, what do I need to do get my enthusiasm back? I have no clue. I just dread all the farming and sub-combines I have to do for smithing. Maybe I should do my tailoring first. I can usually buy most of the stuff from bazaar to get my tailoring up. Maybe that is the answer. I have the money to get me to GM in tailoring, just log in and do it when I can buying stuff from the bazaar.

What do I need to do?

All I can think is: Take a break. Do something else, go out into the world IRL, or find some other EQ goal to pursue. But if it's not fun, at least a little, don't do it.

Smithing got me so frustrated at one point I gave up tradeskills altogether for 6 months. All I can say is...take a break before it affects the other aspects of the game too.

Do what I do. Tradeskill when you're too drunk to raid. Fail, take a sip, fail, take a sip...
