Payback Mobs

Growing up in the FP area, I should have had a number of them -

I always disliked all the guards in EC. They were always there when you didn't want them and NEVER there when you needed them. However, I figured they were just incompetent and never had the desire to go back and kill them.

Oddly enough, I never, ever got whacked by a Griffin in EC - though I remember fleeing in terror often enough.

My only revenge mobs are the two DE's in WC. I can remember the first time I zoned into WC. I was staying on the sandy area, just checking out the zone. I looked away for a moment and when I looked back I was returning to my bind point. I scrolled back up and saw 'Dragoon Zytl hits you for more hit points than you have'. I never even saw him. I was so scared that it was a month before I zoned back in.

Much later, I was checking vendors in WC. I knew about Gix, but I had conned him and he was blue, and I had a SoW, so I wasn't worried. Well, he starts whacking on me - I open the door in exactly the wrong way and get stuck in it. My SoW dropped and then I was dead before I knew it.

I never miss the opportunity to whack either or both of those guys and I usually have a conversation with them before I do.

He has been mentioned before, but I'll say it again: Kizdean Gix.

Every time I am in WC (which isn't often any more), I have to kill him. Even if I am heading to Rivervale, I kill Kizdean. And I do it with the largest nuke I have loaded--that's the rule.

Kizdean was my first manaburn, and my last before they nerfed it. He was the first manaburn when I re-purchased it months later.

To a lesser extent I also will kill Dorn B'Dynn when I see him.

I used to keep a list of all mobs who killed me and which were owed a severe beat down. That list is down to some of the city guards (the uber MR ones that aren't worth the trouble) and Wuoshi, who killed me when I was KOS but I never got revenge on because I became Ally. Now that I am KOS to dragons again, I think Wuoshi needs to taste fire.

All of my revenge killing has been done with just me and my pup, much more satisfying that way. General V'Deers was the last to fall on my list, he's gone down three times now.

For those Killing Kizdean Gix, don't forget that doing so spawns Dragoon Zytl, so, please, kill him too. I always do.

Kobold Missionary, Steamfont Mountains: The neato necro gnomie girl got a good chunk of level 31 on revenge killings of this guy.

Minotaur Hero, Steamfont Mountains: Took the entire mana bar of a neato necro gnomie girl, and almost took her life--she was level 37.

Lord Elgnub, Blackburrow: Tzimm didn't need revenge, but she took it regardless and often. Next goal: stun the albino to death.

As sad as it is, my favorite payback mob is the peasant lady in front of the monk guild in Freeport. As a young necro, I was not completely welcome in town. My invis dropped when cruising through the city. As luck would have it, she happened to be standing close enough to want to have a serious talk with me. It was terribly embarassing to get chased out of town by her in front of hordes of players. So, I have a special place in my deep, dark heart for her.
