  • I can't believe they fixed the looting bags sound!

While playing tonight, I had to do a CR. (Oops, I can't resist pulling while foraging in WW. Pulling while KOS to CoV can be very bad.)

Anyway, before when you would left click to pick up your items, the bags were much louder. Loud enough to hurt while playing on headphones. Tonight, it was the same as all the other items! Maybe my poor ears won't be damaged by EQ after all.

Wow, I've had that forever and never really thought about it.

I just assumed for some reason that bags were supposed to be very super ass loud.

Bags that had stuff in them were loud. Empty bag had the same sound as looted equipment. At least it was that way on my machine...

Bag with no stuff in it? What's that? (OK, so I empty a bag before making Haversacks or MTP's. But after that, they are always filling again.)

Seriously, I think what they were doing was adding together the looting noise of all the items in the bag to play at once. So the more in the bag, the louder it was.

              Saum wins the cookie..

ya.. it would play the loot noise for the bag and every item therein at the same time..

wether it is playing the sound thru 1 channel amplified.. or thru multiple channels simultaneously.. the result tends to be a very LOUD loot sound

personally i tend to believe that it was playing them sequentially across multiple sound channels (talking hardware sound channels on the cound card.. not about FR/FC/FL/RR/RC/RL/Sub channel's like you'd find on a 7.1 setup) the resulting analog wave in your powered speakers would be quite high amplitude when the loot sounds hit oscillation..

anyway.. ya it's fixed.. praise Inny

                Mwaaaaahhhhh.....

I DID notice that! In all the time I was playing, everytime I looted, I always assumed it was my sound card and/or sound driver. hahaha.

Figured... oh well, if that's the only problem on my machine, alittle sound driver... I can live with it or wait til I upgrade my sound card or newer drivers. hahaha

Though maybe after upgrading, dx9? Some other game software/driver... i somehow got newer drivers and it was 'fixed'. I didn't even begin to consider that maybe everything was working correctly and it was eq that was the problem.
