    God. *tight hug*

I left for a year and 3 months. My best friend from EQ kept both of my accounts, and more importantly, kept in touch with me for that year.

I'm back now... and she's talking about quitting. We have ICQ, and I'll take her account if it comes to it.

As for the other things.. I wish I could give you comfort. All I can say is that the night is darkest before the dawn, and sometimes.. things do have to get worse before they can get better.

My prayers will be with you.

/em wraps Zeralenn up in a fuzzy blanket (fresh from the dryer); hands her a big mug of hot cocoa (heavy on the cocoa so the last few sips are "chocolate sludge"), a box of tissues, a sappy romance novel (guaranteed to distract her from the real world so she can cry over someone else's problem for a bit) and lets her know there is a stack of hugs fluffing in the dryer for when she's done.

Well, something worked. Don't know if it was the chocolate, the novel, or the prayers (or combinations thereof) but there is a bit of good news in all this.

My cat Smudge underwent intensive treatment for her kidney problems and I just got back results of a second blood test. All her numbers have reverted to normal. My vet tells me that if she had had permanent kidney damage, we would have seen some improvement in the numbers, but nothing as dramatic as what we got. It looks like her kidney problem may have been the result of a short-term infection and not permanent kidney damage as we had originally feared, given her age.

She is off treatment and goes back for another followup blood test in a few weeks, but it looks like she may simply have had an episode and will be okay.

        Thanks for the support, guys.

Glad to hear that. Now the good stuff ought to start flowing soon. Friend used to tell me that life is a river. Small bad times are like rocks, you throw onw in, it makes a ripple, but the water keeps flowing, and over time, it wears away on the rock till it's smooth and well rounded. A bad week is liek a bend in the river, but waters always seeks its own level, and will eventually change course. He was seriously into the balance of life view.

Good to hear the cat is better. ( I have two of my own.)
Cats are very prone to stress related issues. If this is the cat that came from the friend, its health problems could have been brought on by the move from one family to another on top of the plane ride. If this is a cat that was in your home all along it could have been reacting to the new cat in the house.
A co-worker of mine took in a cat from another couple. The cat was only 1 year old. Should have adjusted easily right? wrong.. The cat would not eat for anything... not even tuna fish. Ended up having either kidney or liver problems which ended up costing close to $1000 worth of time and treatment. The cat is now happy, fat, and a big lover of a kitty.
