  • Beards

Hello, I have a question. When I create a character, I have no beard selection! I've seen beards in screenshots, but I can't access them or something. I can have a few, but cant change the color either. Also, when I dye armor, not only do the clothes get dyed, but my skin does too! This looks very strange, so I don't dye anything but plate. In screenshots I've seen, this does not always occur. Thanks for your help!

Not sure about the beards o_O

For the second part, type /dopropertinting on (I think that's it)
That should fix the dying of the skin.

What race and gender is your character?

AFAIK, the only female characters that can have beards are dwarves. While many male characters can have beards, many others cannot.

Off the top of my head, the following males can have beards -

      Human
      Barbarian
      Erudite
      Dwarf
      Gnome
      Half-Elf
      Halfling

Not sure about high elves and dark elves. I know the wood elves cannot.

And dwarf females are afaik the only females that can have beards.

Dark elves can have facial hair, but not full beards they get moustache and or goatee beard as their choices I think. with very limited colour selection IIRC.

High elf males also have a goatee selection.

On the original question... you do own the Luclin expansion, correct?

            beards > all

I was greatly saddened that High Elves could only have goatees when the new Luclin models were introduced. cry

            ah well.

              More Beards and Dyes

I cant get beards on any except dwarves, and I DO have luclin. Dwarves only have 1 beard, and humans, gnomes, barbs, halflings, etc have no choices whatsoever! Can someone answer the dye question mentioned above as well? thanks!

                Hmm...

Are you SURE you're not looking at the female models and/or Luclin models? IIRC, all of the male dwarves are bearded, while iirc there is exactly one bearded female dwarf in the original model set. Sounds exactly like what you're describing...

                  About the beards:

Do you have all of the NEW models turned on?

When you start everquest, Instead of clicking Connect, try clicking on options.

Then, after choosing your video card, make sure that whatever race you wish to see/select beards and faces for has a check mark in it.

And about the dye thing, the only advice I have is to try typing /dopropertinting on

                          Goatees > You.
I can't state it any more simply.
