In case anybody was curious, there was a GM telling stories this weekend. At least, there was one on Mithaniel Marr server.

I've read this story somewhere before, but for the life of me, I can't remember where. I tried googling for it, but came up blank. It's very curious that they would start repeating the old tales.

Look under "GM Event - Fenorn gets a new name". Apparently, this was an actual GM event that took place. Wonder why they're retelling the story of it, rather than rerunning it or something similar?

I wonder if this is indicative of a resumption of GM events?

Since it already happened, it would be kind of odd to re-run it... maybe they are preparing for a follow up to the story?

Nice walk down memory lane, if so ... though it's interesting that in the retelling the "brave human warrior whose name shall be remembered ... " was never mentioned by name.

Do you suppose they ran the event on more than one server? If so, there'd be a stack of different names -- and 'twould grow confusing indeed to try to keep track of all of them!

Another possibility ... they had Trollish GM story tellers not long before LoY was announced, who showed up giving history lessons ... Could this be part of a buildup toward "Lost Dungeons of Norrath"?

Still, a little more "GM event" type of thing would add a nice variety ...

Old Event. Run once per year for hte past couple years. Original Mayong Mistmoore was so **** powerful, that he was removed very quickly from the game. However, the story seem familiar because as rumors go, Mistmoore holds the key to destroying the Sleeper. Goes along with the Nagafen and Vox were kicked out of the RoS because of their wishes, and da da da da.....long old stuff, nothing more than fun has ever been known out of it.

Old Tale

It's a story of an old quest ... if I remember correctly it took a couple of days and the 'winner' got the artifact Claw of Veeshan and the title "the Scaled Claw" ... probably three years ago. Now we get GMs telling stories of the quests they used to do. I don't think they'll ever do quests like that again ... *shrugs* ~ K
