  • How many mains do you have?

How many main characters do you have? I know some people have more than 1. I have my Mage, Sithro which was my first main character. And now Gothus, my Necromancer (I like pet classes ok...).

Trying to catch Goth up to Sithro but that will take a lil while. =)

I look at 'mains' like I look at top priorities. You only have one. You can claim to have more than one top priority, but based on a literal interpretation of the words, you can't.

      Great response Kiztent.

I have my Druid as my main, although like you, I have a Baby Necro as my twink alt.

I have several characters I play almost equally. However, when it boils down to tradeskills, it depends on which skill I want. This character = this skill, and so on. Any extra "mains" though I consider retired.

Actually, I play both Gothus and Sithro the same amout pretty much. I did it so when I get "POed" at one I play the other. Not to mention they share the gear. Trying to catch Goth up to Sithro though, =)

I played a druid till 53, switching to various other classes from time to time, never getting them above 10 though. Untill I found my bard. Now it seems like I never play anything else.

At this point, I really have only one "main", Dunthor. My mage, Gaakel, has at times been played as much if not more than Dunthor, and if I'd managed to get him up a bit higher he might have become a second main. I was really thinking of him as a "second main" for a while ... but then I got into raiding with Dunthor, and Gaakel has dropped off.

I have 5 other alts (and 1 mule, for bazaar), but none of them have come close to being a "main" - they're just alts.

hmm... technically my first chr would be my main, and that's my 52nd lvl bard (who has no tradeskills at all). Although, I usually call my druid (who's 56) my main, since she does both baking and brewing (and a smattering of others)

                      I have my main:

Zyrtryx Conjureblade - lvl 42 (almost lvl 43) High Elf Magician, Agnostic

And seven alts. None higher than 15 at the moment (Two of them are still in the single digits, and one of those may be deleted because his most important skills aren't rising at a satisfactory rate).

I also have two characters on Stromm. One is lvl 4 or 5, and the other one I haven't actually used yet. I created him but never logged him. Both are Vah Shir.

Actually I call my warrior and my cleric my "mains". Simple reason is they are on two separate accounts. Aye, I two box a lot. Yes, I suppose my main main (heh) is my warrior, but I am hard pressed to exclude the cleric from the "main" category. As for alt/twinks well the list is long (hence my nickname of sybill in my guild) aside from the ones that do tradeskills i also have a 51 monk, 36 shaman, 25 wizard, 31 ranja, 25 bst, and a few other in their teens.

Hmm, even my character on another account I call an "alt". Zera is my main, a 56 shadowknight.

I do have two "main alts" -- alts I play more than others and tend to view as second string after Zera. Currently my "main alts" are a 39 druid named Felice and a level 18 cleric named Milletoux (her name translates in French to "a thousand coughs", which I felt was appropriate for a gnomish Bertox cleric). I have semi-retired a 37 cleric named Soveh -- semi-retired because she was attached to another character whose "person" needed to attend to RL and quit EQ. It doesn't feel quite right running her without her "bodyguard". Instead, I moved her to my second account and she is PLing Milletoux as her replacement. Plus, it has allowed me to fix a major problem I had with Soveh -- I never developed weapon, offense, or defense skills, so she is totally helpless if attacked.

I have a few other alts I don't play nearly as much. Richeldys, my druid on Stromm, has gone neglected because Stromm was just overcrowded and getting nasty. I have a 26 Vah Shir shaman named Moonwhisker, a 24 bard named Otavis (anyone familiar with my smithing guide will recognize her), a 20 chanter named Eliste, and a 16 mage named Marsineh. Of the "alt alts" I tend to play Marsineh the most at the moment, but my loyalties change as my moods do.

                          ...Zera

Csimene Penombra - 64 Human MAG (Epic) - Brewing (250) (Trophy), Tailoring, Smithing, Pottery, Research, Fletching, Jewelcraft & Baking (200)

Depends on what day you ask

Loredena, a now 51 warrior, is my first born, first love, and original primary. I played her 5 to 6 days a week for close to two years. At that same time I had two clerics, that were played once a week with friends and were definitely alts. When most of my guild left EQ Lore went into retirement at 48 as there is little a monk/warrior duo can do without any sort of healer, and Serenya became for a time my 'main'. My husband decided to level a beastlord, and so I picked up the baby ranger who had retired to fletch at 13, and she became my main alt. When Lemilynia was in her 30s I moved Serenya to another account and began two boxing; once they both hit 50 I brought Loredena out of retirement. I now mostly two box Lore and Serenya, so they are co-primaries, but Lemi doesn't let me forget her Velma, my level 50 cleric on another server, is still played once a week but she's never been a primary to me.

Textbook definitions aside, I had two mains for the longest time, about two and a half years. I played my druid for a while and then I’d get the urge to play my ranger. By the time one passed the other by about two levels I’d find myself in the mood to play the other one. They are both 51st level at the moment.

Then my guild disbanded and I couldn’t bring myself to play them anymore. So I started playing my 19th level shaman that I hadn’t played since Luclin first came out. My shaman is now level 56 and I would have to say he is my current main character. However, my guild just arose from its ashes, so who knows what the future will hold for my druid and ranger.
