Just wondering how you all answered the poll the other day when you logged in.

I responded with "I solo for experience" and "I would like to do tradeskills and quests"

I would already do more tradeskills but at the levels I'm getting to it's getting slower and more expensive to get any further and I have to get that money for my addiction somewhere.

Same replys I gave. I do prefer to solo most of the time and I do my skills when my arm and head let me.

Perhaps it's because of my steady decline into burnout, but I answered "socialize, socialize."

I choose "I solo", and "I would like to Solo"

Then *NEED* to understand that some people want to, and currently try to, solo as their primary source of advancement.

I just hope that if enough people answer with "I WANT TO SOLO", then all classes will be able to solo, and will be able to get comparitive exp in doing so.

And yes, I know that their view is that Grouping should always be MORE lucrative. But I am hoping they will see my view of "Make grouping give AWESOME xp, and soloing give good xp."

Lilosh, the problem with soloing is that some classes simply cannot do it. If soloing is a lucrative venue, then it is a venue that is limited to certain classes. And that is just not fair. This is a game, and as such I feel that all players should have the opportunity to have fun. I would LOVE it if the engine allowed me, as a rogue, to do cool solo stuff. But it is just not possible within the realm of EQ. While I have no probs with solo people, I do get very jealous of them. Don't tell me to make a necro if I really want to solo. I don't wanna solo a necro. I want to solo my rogue. But am unable to.

I clicked Tradeskills/Quests on both. I would've answered the first one differently, but I assumed they worded the question poorly and wanted to know what people would prefer to do like the second question stated.

Most of the time I socialize nowadays.

I had that same feeling. I wound up doing "I do tradeskills" and "I would like to group", but if I'd know they were actually a pair, I would've done "I do solo" and "I would like to group." I solo out of necessity, but I hate it.

from allowing people to solo. I figured if I put tradeskills, they'll think
I actually like the way tradeskills are in this game and make more horrible timesink ones with rare drops. If I put socialize, it would do jack crud since we already can socialize fine.

They just don't ever give enough info on those questions to actually make them useful at all, beyond the soloing one. " I prefer to do tradeskills and quests" means nothing without also having, " I WOULD prefer to do tradeskills and quests if they were not either horribly broken, worthless to do, or required me to get a global village of other players to help me (or be filthy rich and not have carpal tunnel)"

They seem to really be gung ho about grouping and alienating everyone who doesn't have the time. This is really the case with Lost Dungeons of Norrath which sounds like you will NEED a group of 5 to do its instanced content. In that case, I may as well not even buy it. So I had to choose "I like to solo" since it was the only choice I viewed as improving the game.

I am changing the name of that expansion to:

Lost Dollars of SOE.
