Nooooo sir-ee, Bob. I cite the post in Visitor's Corner: Please do not post "TEST" OR "SIG TEST". The reason that sig tests are prohibited is that they clutter up the boards. Posts asking questions that don't really interest you have the exact same effect. Admitting in the post that you really just wanted to test your sig only gives other people the notion that they can get around the sig test rule by creating fluff posts of their own.

If you want to post a question or comment then please feel free to do so. But if you want to test a sig, use the handy-dandy Preview button or refer to a different post you have already made. Sigs are dynamically generated on these boards and will change for all posts you have ever made here.

The rules are in place and enforced in order to keep the boards a friendly, organized, easy-to-use place, not because we enjoy frustrating people. The owners of these boards put an incredible amount of time and money into maintaining this resource for us. Please respect their wishes.
