  • Baking, tailoring and EK

I have to say that I love this zone.

I have gone to 132 in baking thanks to the lion and wolf meat from here. Plus some bear meat picked up in Misty Thicket
What I don't get, however, is why do I get 10 fillets per wolf meat, and only 1 from lion and bear? I mean, lions do have a little more meat on them, and bears, heck I think I could get a stack of fillets from them suckers.

Tailoring is treating me pretty well also. I am at around 42. I skin the MQ pelts down to make padding, and then I skin down the HQ pelts to MQ and try to turn them into masks. I figure that I will do the studded until it trivials at 56, then I will get a stack or so of quiver patterns and make a bunch of quivers until 115, then use the spider silk that I am saving up from the occasional carrion spider and work on Wu's fighting armour.

The yield is a mystery to us all...

The ones that you only get 1 fillet are vendor sold meats though, maybe that was the consolation prize for having to hunt down wolves and mamoths.

Could you imagine hunting down 200 Mammoths for 200 HMP combines? (not that you can yet imagine HMP combines, keep up the good work)

The vendor bought meat yielded 4 for the longest time. Was nicer for doing skillups and such, but a minor exploit - it was priced as though you only recieved 1. So for a outlay of a silver or two, you got back a few silver *profit*. Vendor-bought tradeskill profit = bad in SOE eyes, so it had to be changed.

Does make actually using the recipe a little more annoying though. Wish they'd just nerfed the sellback price rather than the yield :P

Amen! I keep stacks of filleted mammoth and wolf in the bank, but I only make bear and lion fillets when I am actually ready to use them. If they still made 4 fillets from one piece of meat, I'd keep stacks of those, too.

It might be a little late to mention it, but save any HQ bear skins you run across. Once you trivial out Studded leather, you can make Handmade Backpacks to 88. The bear skins aren't as easy to get as, say, the Lion ones but every little bit helps. Also, the Backpacks are 10 slots & 10% weight reduction so they are handy. You can replace any regular Backpacks you own with the ones you succeed on and carry more or hold more in your bank space.

Don't forget that HQ Rockhopper can also be used to make handmade backpacks.
