  • Disney's Armed Forces Salute

    Hey folks!

Thought I would pass this along to everyone in case they may know someone that's in Active Duty Military...

    http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/waltdisneyworld/reservations/reservationsindex?id=MilitaryOfferRoot

"To honor America's service men and women, Walt Disney Parks and
Resorts is offering active members of the U.S. military a
complimentary 5-day Disney's Armed Forces Salute Ticket, valid for
admission to Disney's theme parks, water parks and more at the Walt
Disney World® Resort, through December 19, 2003. Active members of
the U.S. military may also purchase 5-day Disney's Armed Forces
Salute Companion Tickets for $99 each (plus tax) for up to five
    family members or friends."

    Also:

"Special Walt Disney World Resort Room Offers available
Active U.S. Military personnel or spouses are also eligible for a 40%
savings per night (based on the non-discounted price of the same
room) at select Walt Disney World® Resort hotels. This offer is
available most nights through December 19, 2003 and the number of
rooms available at this savings is limited. Call (407) 939-7424† for
    more information. "

Just so you know, the 5-day ticket to Disney is usually around
$217.00. This is a SUBSTANTIAL savings (actually unheard of with
    Disney).

The downside to these tickets is that they DO expire December 19,
2003. It doesn't say, but I am betting these are "must use
    within X
    number of days tickets"

These Tickets may be purchased only by the active U.S. Military member or spouse (not both).

It is very nice of them to do...

Though it isn't like they don't get anything out of it. Most military guys who do this have kids, family, spend money at the park etc.

So they make a good profit, and get extra customers, not to mention the awesome PR and free word of mouth advertising.

Like this thread for instance .

I live in Orange county, and every theme park here does similar things, usually a day of free admission with a military ID etc.

Nah, California, where we get sun without all that pesky humidity.

              California > Florida :P
