I am currently running Windows 98. I must have gotten a good version, I have had no problems with it up to now, and I am comfortable with it.
However, I want to upgrade my RAM. I have 512, and was thinking of going up to 1024. A friend informed me that WIN 98 will only recognize the first 512 MB of RAM, and will ignore the rest. A second friend countered this saying that it will recognize it, but will not use it.
To sum up, I do not want to buy RAM my machine will not use. Will WIN 98 allow me to fully utilize 1024 MB of RAM?
If not, which windows OS is the most EQ AND user-friendly that will?
